Also, Skrtel could be replaced by Daniel Agger who signed a new 4 year deal with us, early in the summer. Personally, I would like to see Carragher on the bench, cause I would question whether or not he would last 90 minutes. Agger with Skrtel would be my preference for starting CBs.

As far as Mascherano, the way I see it every game we get out of him is a bonus. As soon as we find ourselves in the midst of a 3 game losing streak, he'll start saying things like "3 seasons is a long time to go without a title" and all of that sort of BS.....which will eventually lead to him pressurizing Benitez into a January transfer. If this happens, and I think it will, then I really hope that the KOP gives him the Eboue treatment and boos him off the pitch.

Masch's bro has said that he still wants to move to Barcelona. Really, Benitez has bought a lot of youth and backups over the years, he should have someone lined up to step into the role. As a Chelsea fan I'd like you to sell him, but honestly, you've lost 2 players who were key last season, you should keep him happy. But, if Xabi leaves, I can see him forcing a move, because he wants titles, and Xabi leaving makes that seem like a tougher task.

No, Alonso has asked for a transfer, and Pool have accepted Madrid's offer, it seems. Or they're playing hardball, depending on the source.

It's really hard to keep foreign players in a team. E.g I'm sure Gerrard had lots of offeres in the past but he turned all of them down because of his love and passion for Liverpool. There are lots of examples, lampard, giggs, scholes, terry, del piero, totti, maldini, raul, ...
