Fair result, Porto had very few chances. Could have been a bigger result.

How the ref didn't see that penalty by Lucho on Petit at the end is beyond me.

What a boring match!
Sporting depends on itself to win the league, and already won the BES trophy, wich no one cares about.

the same way he didn't see the foul over Adriano that started that play...

congrats! Benfica deserved to win because they played better than Porto. Porto was just a shadow of it could if we had a decent couch, i'm getting the feeling that Adriaanse isn't cut out for this kind of matches...

Benfica won mostly because of Baía, overall we weren't much inferior.
In the second half Benfica mostly sat back and defended the lead as we gave our everything to score.
Still, very uninspired display by Porto so I'm really disappointed :(

Poor performance and sh't result for us, but guess who's still in 1st place :ewan:

i don't think we'll stay in 1st place until the end of the league.
i'll be happy to hold it until we get to play in Alvalade, but then it will be bye bye :(

considering the game we had on Tuesday, it was obvious that the player's legs were bound to suffer in the 2nd half.

It was very important to score in the first half so we could give the control of the game to Porto in the 2nd half and manage the effort of the players. Even so, Porto although playing much better than the first half still struggled a lot to create chances. Quaresma was zero.

And although it was obviously due to Porto being all out in the attack, we could have easily finished the game in the counterattacks and Petit didn't just because he was pulled by Lucho.

Baías mistake doesn´t explain everything. Benfica had plenty of chances, i don´t really recall Porto having the same kind of obvious goal chances. Porto´s performance was extremely poor and they showed no identity, no spirit and looked demotivated. Can´t understand that Porto wasn´t even able to put pressure on Benfica´s midfield. Who would have guessed that Benfica was the team who played Tuesday, after Porto showed such lack of stamina and determination? I remember when the old Porto´s performances in the recent past, no comparison with this pale image of a team. But i agree, all isn´t bad you guys are still first, but your performances in the games that matter have been extremely poor and frustrating.

Nacional is next for porto :fool:

great game from Luisao and Leo! and porto couldn't shot a single time with some danger. anyway, great to be back to the championship hopes (C)

you guys did counter-attack a lot in the 2nd half, but failed to create true scoring chances man..your best chance was still in the first half with Gomes' miss.

I have strong doubts about if it was a penalty (they were grabbing each other if you ask me), but this part is not worth being discussed because we won't reach consensus.

Manuel Fernandes made a great game too. finally he's back.

I thought he was better on Tuesday, a bit slow and more passive that proactive today, but he was great for the comedic value at least as he made Lucho look like an arse looking for his ribs twice :D

Oh come on Massive that penalty was obvious. Petit was trying to run to finish the play as the net was open and he was pulled. When even Coroado says so

It was a deserved win, no doubts. Léo was amazing  (do Brazil have a better left back than him apart from R.Carlos, atm ?) And so was Luisão  (which IMO deserves to be a starter for the Brazilian NT, instead of Roque Tosco)

That Nuno Gomes miss was unbelievable :|

I was only a little afraid when Beto entered the game, you never know what he's up to :(

Our players defenately deserve a lot of credit, after taking on Liverpool, and it showed on the 2nd half they were tired but still managed to hold on to the win.

no offense dude, I obviously can't accuse you of being biased and all, but....what the F.U.C.K.?
am I the only one here to realize that did NOT happen? :(

ok Virgo...that was my view at the time, but maybe I'll have to see a few extra replays to get it right :$
