Diego unhappy at Porto

Porto midfielder Diego is becoming increasingly frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities at the Portuguese club.

Diego is worried that he will be unable to force his way back into the Brazil squad for the World Cup finals if he is not playing regular first-team football.

The player's father and agent Djair Cunha said: "With Diego always being a substitute it's nearly impossible for him to be recalled to the national team.

"The first year that he went to Portugal is was very problematic because the team changed many coaches and players.

"This year Diego was getting prepared for being able to show all he knows, then the coach changed and the tactics of the team, so there isn't a place for him in the team."

It is now believed that Diego is in the process of trying to cancel his contract with the former European champions.

Cunha added: "We expect to reach an agreement with the officials of Porto to let him be free to choose any team away from Portugal, so he can keep working with another team.

"This experience in Portugal has really let him down because when he arrived he had other expectations."

What happen to Diego? wasn't he doing well and getting better and better? Haven't heard anything on Diego in the last 3 months. Is he injured or just riding the bench?

Well, he doesn't gets in the line-up...because there are better options...simple as that. He always goes to the bench, and normally enters in the second half...and play some 30 minutes.

In the beggining of the season, Co was with a midfield full of creative players and no destructive players...that wasn't Lucho's natural position. Ever since Assunção went to the line-up, Porto look more solid in the defensive part...and sort of in the attack. Lucho is the AMC for Porto...and IMO, he is a better player than Diego...much more complete.

2 weeks before, Diego said he wasn't happy at Porto and with Co options. Result: No Line-up and no bench.

Johnny said it all, Porto has very good midfielders and they can't all play at the same time so if Diego wants to behave like a spoiled brat he can go f'ck himself.
