i think England need a skipper who can shout at other team-mates on the pitch, Beckham doesnt seem to be the one. He can only talk in the press conference...

Do you even know what the argument is about?
Did you even read my post?

"By the way, Uruguay have won two World Cups. So by your theory they are going to challenge for World Cup 2006 and the Netherlands, England, Portugal, Spain, Turkey won't."

Translation: it is not neccesarily about whether they have won it before but more about how good of a team they are now.

So captain-beckham, I encourage you to actually read a person's post and the ones that preceded it before you make a dumbass comment like that.
I know the arguement , and it's about England should have done better , but you and the other guy kept talking about the past when the Holland team of 1974 or somthin DOESN"T PLAY ANYMORE!!! SO IT DOESN"T COUNT FOR THE TEAM NOW!!!!!

Did anyone else watch the game on BBC 1 and hear the crystal clear shout from the crowd about 10 minutes from full-time of "come on you f*cking c*nts"? :D

I wish that Sven would mind his language.

Aye. Tony Adams. Excellent captain.

Hardly any of them sung the national anthem the wankers. Southgate was the only one clearly singing it. Scholes stoof there like a bouncer. Heskey mumbled, and I think Rio's lips were moving. Probably the wind. They never sung. It's disgraceful. They show no pride whatsoever. Italy were done in for not singing their anthem because it made them nervous. I think England need a swift kick in the bollocks and tell them to start singing it.

I heard that too. I was pissing myself laughing. If I were the commentator I'd have said, 'well said mate'. :D

England have recently played like the are lost, and this goes back to the World Cup. They put in 1 good performance against Denmark, and were fairly fortunate that Argentina couldn't be a bit more creative because they were all over England after their goal.

But against Liechtenstein they look completely at odds with each other. They were lucky that Becks was working his ass off and Owen scored because they didn't look good for their win. Heskey made one good cross but was nowhere to be seen other than that. Why does Scholes play more defensively for England? Sven should tell Gerrard to stay back a bit more, where he can use his long range passing, and let Scholes play more attacking. Only when this happened at the start of the 2nd half did England actually look like they could create anything, and they kept the ball on the floor more. I'm all for Becks' long range passes but when that's the only thing that's creating anything it gets a bit predictable.

If this type of performance is put in against Turkey then we won't be seeing England at Euro2004. They should look at how Wales play to see a team playing for each other. :D
