Anyone seen "A Long Way Down"? That's the only movie i can remember right now that i haven't had time to watch. The reviews are so-so.

Oh and now i remember, i watched Starred Up lately, about UK prisons and some violent guy in there.. Good director etc. It was quite alright. Nothing amazing, though.

EDIT: Should've been more clear about the first one, planning to watch it when i get home and just wondering if it's not a waste of time. The cast is alright, but the director has't done anything notable during his career.

I´ve Watched Disney´s Bears recently, what a piece of crap, Boy was I so wrong expecting a decent nature documentary. I missed Cousteau already.

Don't take it personally, but ignorance can lead to something like that. And again no offense. :( If it was so shite why did you watch it until the end?

Well generally I always try to watch the entire thing no matter what, the problem is expecting something that never was there and that feeling of emptiness in the whole experience.

Hahaha, sorry for laughing over this, but you shouldn't get your hopes up over something like that.

I usually try to watch the entire movie as well, mostly, but lately there have been few ones that have just been bad (in my opinion), i've been tired and decided not to wear myself down with those. I think the last one was this one with Scarlett i believe, i don't remember what it was called. Ok went through the trouble and it was called Under The Skin. Decided to turn off my TV 25 minutes before the end..

I will watch The Road next weekend, Viggo Mortensen is mostly spot on.
You'll either hate it or love it. It's quite dark, dramatic and sad. I don't remember anything positive while watching it. It was just well made and the acting was quite good. I'd never watch it again, though.

Scarlett Johansson is a terrible actress. Only because of her looks is she even considered an actress.

Watched Se7en again. Obviously a classic but the ending, while awesome, is a little strange to me. So John Doe just assumed there would be cop with a life he would envy enough to make him kill a relative of his, angering the cop enough that he would kill Doe? And even so, all the other victims were supposedly "guilty" in his point of view, but of what is Mills guilty? And what is his wife guilty of? All the other victims were sort of guilty of the sin they were murdered for, but Mills' wife wasn't guilty of Envy, neither was John Doe guilty of Wrath. Which would then mean that John Doe was actually the victim of Envy, because he was killed for being envious, but no one was killed for having Wrath.

I don't know if I'm getting my point across, haha.

also, where's my fucking sig gone?

I´ve watched The Road. Feeling drained, I can´t believe that I got through the end but maybe it´s because even though the movie is so dark, gloomy and in some aspects full of hopelessness, it´s really well made, filled with great performances especially Vigo Mortensen as father.

Yup, a depressing movie with good performances from the actors.

I'm just going to mention a few..

A Long Way Down - Pffff... A good story turned into atrocity with bad acting. I didn't feel disappointed after watching this, though. Imogen Poots looks like a promising actor. The guy from Breaking Bad seems so one dimensional actor already.. I'm not even going to bother with movies such as "Need For Speed", because Aaron Paul is going to be his usual self, and forgetting about his role in Breaking Bad will be difficult.

Night on Earth - Can't believe i hadn't seen this before. I think this is for everyone. 5 taxi drivers' stories in 5 different cities (LA, NY, Paris, Roma, Helsinki) at the same time.
Having been to the last 3 cities it brought back good memories and familiar places as well.
Easily goes into my list of favourite movies.

Sir Didier Drogba

Head Official
Night Moves... interesting new movie with Jesse Eisenberg as an eco-terrorist carrying out his biggest "project", I found it quite good, engrossing and dealing with a theme which I have seen surprisingly infrequently. I am not sure I liked the denouement, specifically Eisenberg's characters decision, but I thought overall tone was good and there was genuine suspense and solid performances. Moderately evenhanded, by the end of it you dislike all three of the protagonists and yet are still not persuaded either for or against their cause.

Sin City 2... other than the technological advances of the last 8 years resulting in better effects/CGI, this did nothing new on the first movie and of course lacked the originality of style which made that film stand out. Good entertainment value, but really not worth the $18 I paid to see it in 3D ultraAVX. No point in the "ghost of Bruce Willis" being there at all other than as an unnecessary sixth sense reference and a way to keep Bruce in the film. Chronology compared to the first film was all fucked. I also think the character development from some of the bit-characters from the first film, specifically Senator Rourke and most of all the black guy with the golden eye, wasnt great and took away from their effect, I LIKED them as cardboard characters for the action and real protagonists to move around. Eva Green was super, super hot and it is constantly entertaining, and I liked the small storyline with Levitt's new character. You should probably see it, great film to go and see with your mates one evening, but really does absolutely nothing new. I see this turning into a franchise with each movie having more and more money spent on it but declining further from the original because it just cant come up with the required originality.

EDIT: IF they do make another one I really think they would be better off focusing more on new storylines and characters rather than trying to squeeze more life out of the old ones. Make Marv, Dwight and Nancy into the side characters and centre the stories around new creations.

Red Card - Life
Life Ban
Chef - I enjoyed it. Nothing special but I enjoy some cooking shows and this had a great emphasis on the actual food which I was nice. The story itself was meh but ultimately a nice feel-good movie.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Re-watched it after having read the first book and it really does it no justice. As a film it's fine: rarely do I find a Sam Rockwell film I don't enjoy and most of the other actors (Freeman, Fry, Rickman, Mos Def, Nighy) combine for a funny experience but having read the first book now all you can see are the omitted jokes, etc.

Sin City 2...
I'll definitely go and see this. Been waiting for it since 2005. I don't have high expectations or anything, since usually sequels tend to be not so good. I hope I'll be proved wrong, though.
