The Bank Job - Far better than any movies that was released so far.

just watched it myself too. Pretty good. some characters were not very well developed or used (like the girl government spy) but if it was a true story a guess they had to put them there. good movie (Y)

It was all about the robbery and what happens after it. From the starting there was no character development on anybody. It was like everybody just hopped on the wagon.

I am currently watching Fiddler on the Roof. (H)

La Vita è Bella (Life is Beautiful)

Quite brilliant film. I appreciate that the Holocaust is not an area many feel comfortable setting a comedy/drama in, but the message of the resillience of the human spirit trying to stay upbeat in a very grim reality shines through wonderfully.

Tosiek

Słowiańska Dusza
Wedding Crashers - I haven't seen a better comedy than this in a long time. Vaughn and Wilson are a great team.(H)

What Vladdy said. (Y)

The scene where he (Benigni) explains to his son how the camp is merely some sort of competition where you have to earn points (or something along those lines) is just...heartbraking.

one of the better parodies SNL has done in recent memory, man. Anyway, what was the SG consensus in regards to the quality of this flick? I've seen it twice now since it came out, and I wasn't all that impressed with the whole work to be honest. Yeah, it had its moments of brilliance and morose humor, and of course, DDL's over-the-top antics were just ******* hilariously brilliant, but overall, I thought that it was a subpar flick.

Now I'm probably as big a PTA fan as you're gonna find and I can listen to that ****er babble on about nothing for hours, but in this output, he let us down in two critical areas which are usually his strengths.....one was his casting of the secondary actors and the other was giving the score duties to that dude from Radiohead.....I realize that you like the band and are friends with em, Paul...BUT WTF?.....both were absolute failures, man. The score couldn't be more annoying and abrasive...it was almost a mockery of that genre of film's usual background music....and the supporting cast...they were either remarkably unmemorable or absolutely unbearable and disastrous in their performances. That Evangelical kid was terribly miscast and out of place. He's not as terrible an actor as this movie made em out to be because he was solid in LIE and Little Miss Sunshine, but anyway, his performance almost singlehandedly ruined that movie for me, man.....I wanted to choke the **** out of the whiny little bastard, man.

yeah but what Im saying is that she was not used at all. wsnt even necessary for her character to be there if it was an original story. and again, I liked it.

Ive also seen Fiddler on the Roof a few times (my uncle's favorite) and liked it. John Williams' score is fantastic (Y)

She was totally useless except that breast shot of hers! (H) Well the point of her being in it was to get killed. In the end of the movie they tell us that Michael X was hanged in 1975 in Trinidad for the murder of Gale Benson.

I really liked it and I actually thought the score was quite creative and out of the ordinary for such a genre of film (like you mentioned) but I actually found that quite refreshing and cool.

I agree that Paul Dano was miscast but he still did an ok job I thought. It wasn't enough to almost ruin the movie though, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Even when it got a little slow in the storytelling the cinematography was enough to make me appreciate it.

^^ Yeah, I went to see it with a couple of close friends of mine the first time and they were calling it a damn near perfect movie, and let me tell yah, these two don't throw around such magnanimous compliments as though they're going out of style or something, but like I said, I didn't think that it was all that remarkable, in fact, it's tied with Punch Drunk Love as my least favorite PTA film....the last 35-40mins of this flick were torturous to watch, man.

Bloody awful. Unless it was meant to be a comedy, in which case, equally bloody awful.

Steaua, what did you think of the spoof, man? Excellent ****, no?

same person, imo.

Boy do I hate that pseudo-intellectual dyke....what an unbearable c/unt, man. I wanna wipe my ass with her face. She's got a new flick with Dennis Quaid coming out, and everytime its commercial appears on my television, I just weep uncontrollably....it's like something inside me dies a little when I come across her mug and hear all the undeserved plaudits that she's being showered with.

anyone got her number or addy, man? I really wanna hurt her feelings.

The film is awfuly blunt, no 'wow' factor...just a huge 'yawn' one...what a waste of my time

Yeah the spoof was pretty funny although predictable. SNL sucks man let's face it.

heh....Let's face it, you probably haven't been watching the show much this year and haven't seen an entire episode since they came back from the strike. They've been getting a lot of inspiration and material from the campaign trail and the quality has been very good. It's such a hackneyed and predictable thing to say, "SNL SUCKS", and even worse if you haven't been paying any attention of significance to the show, man.

I mean, it goes through its various cycles from being phenomenal to ****ty, as you'd expect from a sketch comedy show, but for like the last couple of years, since the last turnover of crew, it's been consistently solid. It's probably got one of its stronger male casts in a while with Bill Hader, Adam Samberg, Seth Meyers, Will forte and Jason Sudekis.
