A Scanner Darkly (Y)

wonder what's the book like.

It's visually stunning, eh? And well casted aswell, but it still doesn't compare to the book, man. Also, the book is considerbly more depressing.

First pic of Larry 'Lana' Wachowski.....LOLzer. I'm gonna send it a burka as a gift.

Anyway, one less Cock to compete with and one more c/unt in the pool, right?

Another shocking revelation brought to you courtesy of the Yoss........wait for it....this is gonna knock you back to Wednseday.....Lauren Bacall is alive.....alive and well, actually!!

Seriously, I could've sworn that she croaked about a couple of decades ago or something, man. Anyway, she's in this new Woody Harrelson flick that I'm really looking forward to.

It's gotten some decent pub so far from the TIFF audience.

One more thing. Eastern Promises and No Country for Old Men have been getting some Oscar worthy attention and praise at the TIFF so far, man. The clamor surrounding these two flicks is verging on the delirious.

It's never too wise to get yer panties all lathered up by the reactions of festival going audiences, but since the Coens and Cronenberg are two of my favs, I just simply cannot contain myself, yo.

Watched The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Very entertaining, not a movie I'll remember tomorrow, but it wasn't wasted time. It was just so utterly ridiculous in every sense, that I couldn't help but laugh. Alan Rickman as Marvin the Depressed Robot cracked me up. The complete lack of will to live in his voice was perfect, and the midgety robot itself was funny, too, for some reason. In lines like this:

Marvin: I've been talking to the ship's computer.
Arthur: And?
Marvin: It hates me.

You just can't not laugh. Still, I didn't quite like how it all came to end, I didn't feel like I saw the correct ending. But, still quite good. 7/10.

Nah Az, easily the best part in the movie is the Bill Bailey voiced whale.

"Oh what shall i call this... erm... GROUND! oh, i wonder if it'll be my friend, hello ground..."

We had to watch Bend it for SATs, still dunno why, but we did, and that's a week a wouldn't mind forgetting.

Les Miserables, alright film, barely paid attention to it, wouldn't watch it a second time.

Death Proof... it could be that I watched it in spanish, but it sucked. Basically, it looked like Q thought 'I'm sure at least 20 million folks will go and see it... why not just make crap?' If it's supposed to be some sort of satire, it didn't work. Waste of time, and waste of money. I literally started talking to my mates about who got the most popcorn because it was so incredibly ****ty. I hope to good that the original, shortened version is better, because this was just pure crap.

Very entertaining, Simon Pegg is a diamond like always and fantastically supported by Dylan Moran who's acting skills are truly terrible... but is very funny indeed.

Good film (Y)

completely agree
the script was crap and the story didn't make sense, if you can call that a story

I saw bits of Fargo. I picked it up in the beginning and missed the last 15 minutes of it. I have to watch it over again. Beerfest was hilarious; recently saw Waiting, too, which was also funny.

So, what do you guys think of Affleck the younger? So far, I'm undecided on his abilities, man. He was pretty decent in Drowning Mona and Gerry, and I don't recall him having much of an impact on me in some of his other minor roles, but I'm mostly indifferent towards 'em, man. Can't decide whether he's utter **** or moderately decent.

Anyway, the reason why I bring this up is because he's in that new flick with Pitt whose title pretty much describes the whole movie for you, and he's supposed to be almost a lead in that one, carrying it as much as Pitt and I'm kinda nervous about that prospect.

Bad?

I would say he's crap. Not good enough to carry a movie on his own, and when directors wanted him to do that, the movie turned out really cheap, like on Paycheck, Armageddon...
