was using a geforcefx 5200 on my 1.4ghz machine and PES 3 ran like ****. my new system came yesterday, 3ghz, 512 400mhz ram, radeon 9800 pro, now PES 3 runs like a dream, not a single slowdown at 1280x1024 with 2xAA and AF enabled.

Thank you. I rest my case! ;-)
Enjoy the game- doesn't it look (and play) great, eh? :D I love the rainy matches, the water spraying on the pitch etc is superb.

Aye, the only cure i could find to run the game how it should look/be played was to upgrade my graphics to a 9600xt. And now it looks great. It was an unexpected purchase but i know i've got a card that can cut the mustard with next years games (MOH Pacific Assault, Half Life 2 and Doom etc.):)

Re: There is an alternative...

It's about time companies catered towards people with 'high-spec' PC's. As I said, this game is also available on the consoles...

true, but it can be done even better; games like max payne 2 look & run great on both high and low end systems.
Im just a little bit disappointed, that's all. (konami did a sloppy port of silent hill 3 as well)

You don't drink fine wine from a cup...

actually, I do :crazyboy:

Hahahaha.

Yeah, I know what you mean... So it's f***ed even with 'low' quality settings, and the lowest resolution? If so, then that's really unfortunate. Have you tried both of the patches??
Hey, I feel bad for you; hopefully Konami will release a patch to address your issues. Have you tried different driver 'builds' for your graphics card? NVidia cards seem to have the most problems with the game...

I'm assuming that you've actually got the game!! LOL :D

yeah its not just Nvidia MX cards.
I have an ATI 9500 pro and all new games run blazing on it including many EA games but PES 3 runs weird.

Most people dont have 'hi-spec PC's' and any company caterting to such a market would suffer as soon as they make a poor game, which is bound to happen for any game developer.

I have 2 systems, one with radeon 8500, amd xp 1700: runs fine with high res. and the first patch, but have occasional speedups which are annoying.

the other is a loptop with shared memory :crazyboy: , the second patch made things a little better here, runs not smooth, but ok.
I've paid for the game, and I consider myself as diehard pro evo fan, so no slowdowns (or speedups) will stop me from playing. What i'd like to say is that the coding from konami is sloppy, considering all the problems people are having (they are many!)

Hopefully Konami will learn something from this release

i installed the patch but it slowed the game down alot at 1024by768,before patch it was running fast at that resolution with only little slowdown in the box(very little slowdown). If i run at details set to low then the game runs fast but goes too fast in the box.gone back to original exe and its running nice again.
Not a good patch at all!!!!!!!!!
will they ever get it right?
maybe the new catalyst drivers will help.
still downloading service pack 1 for the catalyst drivers to work tho.
Dam computers really arent plug n play

750mhz athlon geforce 3 ti200 1% slowdown in penalty box 1024*768 res medium quality... but again took alot of tweaking to run it. win98 rulez still:)

Sloppy port huh??Then you haven't played Halo to see what sloppy port means..........or should i talk about Deus Ex2:IW
:D .The fact is that PE3 requires a good GPU.I am a framerate lover and i prefer a better framerate than IQ.With PE3 i get both of them so i'm happy.Surely it's not a sloppy port,it's just a demanding game (As long as the high-end pc's can handle it it's just demanding. As long as the game runs like a crap even on high-end pc's then it's a sloppy port).....And as for Max Payne2.....it's the best damn programming i've seen as it's running so smoothly with perfect graphics on both high-end pc's and low-end pc's......but then again there can't be perfect programmers all over the world in all companies.Remedy did an outstanding job,but this doesn't mean that Konami did a bad job.

// Fatal error from Patch 1.30.1 // ('For Your Information')

With that patch installed, my PC crashes after most games, when the 'Pro Evolution...' screen's on (the rotating dial on the right etc). I have now reverted back to the previous official patch.

I reinstalled the game twice, changed my graphics card drivers to the Catalyst 3.10 ones, and even reinstalled my sound card drivers (as a strange high pitched noise occurs when the PC is about to crash). I find it strange how no-one else has reported such an incident, maybe it's because I'm using a processor with hyperthreading.

This is from the minidump that was generated:

So it looks like there's a conflict with 'ati3duag.dll'...

The 1.1.02 (or whatever- the previous patch) works great though, so I'll stick with that for now then. What a shame, the patch got rid of the ever-so-slight 'stutter' that occurred from time to time.

PC specifications (in summary):

I just downloaded the newest patch and I downloaded the No Cd-Crack from www.gamecopyworld.com. To my amazement I could run the game up to 1280*1024 low detail and with 85 hz!

Normally I could barely run it with 640 X 480. but the only problem is that the game is going too fast.

So I'd advice everyone with problems with slow speed to download the No CD Crack.

My specs are:
Windows XP
AMD Athlon 1600+ 256 RAM
Nvidia Geforce 2 Ti
Sound Blaster Live 5.1

U sure of the above statement?... I can't really believe it.
I mean... with a GeForce 2 TI you can run it a 1024x1024 ? :|...

Gyahhaa... just wondering, didn't u all know anything except playin' games?

Well, then who said that GF4mx420 useless ? I play it on a high quality of most 3d games (GTA3vc, CallOfDuty extra setting, PES3...). I brought that card for its price, I don't have very much money even for myself.

I CAN play PES3 with 58-78fps at 800x600 High Detail, 32-bit,100hz! with no patch whatsoever.!

Well, Im not saying this is a perfect port but don't push KONAMI too hard at their first attemp! they might not commin' back to PC market if you do that!

For all you GF4 user find a software that can:
-enable direct3d vsync, force z-buffer 24 bit, etc. and dont forget to check your agp bios setting. For a full tweak, i will post here later.

spec:
AthlonXp 1700+ Pl 512 DDR2700,AC97,MSI KT3 ultra2 (133x11) Gforce4 MX 4-2-0 DDR64Mb. THAT's ALL I GOT!
