Is This Becoming The Poorest WC Ever?

Some would point to Italia 90, but there's no doubt there were more quality sides there like West Germany, Italy and England. Germany 06's goalscoring rate is almost as low as that WC. Where are the great games? The Italy- Brazil of 82, France- Brazil 86, England Germany 90 etc, there arent any. What happened to players taking on entire sides on an individual run? I don't see it. And the amount of acting in this WC is a disgrace, every second someones down acting as if their leg had been hacked off. it just seems to lack an identity, none of the sides have one. The era of the truly great team has passed sadly. Take a chance, try to bloody score, make a spectacle of the event. Eight goals in six second round games thus far is surely taking the piss. At this rate the 2006 WC will be forgotten quickly. My opinion of course.

Refs have been terrible. Some of the play has been good, but it's not one of the best. Not by a longshot.

16 yellows and 4 reds in a game of 25 fouls. Madness.

It's definitely a lot better than '02 so far. It could never compare to the controversy from 2002. It hasn't been the best, but it has been very entertaining.

Italia 90 was a snorefest for those who remember it..

Mexico 86 was the best I ever saw, so many great moments....and had what has to be one of the most, if not, THE most entertaing finals ever.

the best world was 70, the Braazil teams is the greatest team to ever play the game. Totally outclassed everybody and that magical Carlos Alberto goal is somethign to be seen. For me personally that is the greatest goal ever scored. In that same tournament was the greatest save made by the english keeper forget his name. Serioulsy if you guys can watch it.

This world cup is just like anyother world cup, exciting I've never been disspointed by any major finals be it euro or world cup. I hated 02 however since all the game were on at 2 in the morning. But I must admit that was for me the most disspointing one, still exciting but too much controversial calls and really poor excuse for a ball (I think atleat 80 goal bound shots sailed over the bar thanks to that stupid ball.). But germany scored more goals in 2002 because they played team like saudi and won 8-0. I think there's only one problem with the world cup today, too many lousy teams are in it. Iran, Saudi, Costa Rica... in place of teams like Denmark and Uruguay. For Korea and Japan they can use a C-team and still qualify for the finals. Its a bit of a joke, teams shouldn't be losing 8-0 on this level.
