For a dangerous play you get an indirect, for normal fouls a direct. Paparesta whistled for Chiellini coming in with a straight leg, so, dangerous play.

i think its all about the intent on goal. u know like in basketball if u have a shot and u are fouled u go to the line and shoot free throws. therefore if u got intentions on goal u have adirect free. (eg. shot on goal that may be blocked by an illegal movement.

an indirect one would be like fouling a player in basketball where he hasnt gonefor a shot but has to take it from the side. hence no intention on goal! i wanna find out the real meaning though thats my theory.
