I guess your right about Stankovic, Mikey, because he's been playing next to Pizarro during the offseason. But once Cambiasso and Veron are back, I don't think he'll have things so easy. Though I guess he'll also have a shot at the LW, so atleast that way Karagounis can be kept.

Your right on Kily. He may have heart, etc, etc, a never die attitude, but he should be sold. I see him as excess. Better we try cashing in now.

BTW Moratti talked about signing a 5th striker in an interview he gave, so I think it might actually happen. Are you totally sure about Di Vaio being cup-tied if he plays tonight?

On the LB thing, that's not gonna happen. The club were really interested in signing Evra, but he turned us down because he wants to win with Monaco. Anywayz there's already Favalli and Wome (since Coco is on his way out). I really think we'll make a big LB signing next season, when both Favalli and Wome's contracts run out. I then think Wome will be resigned as a backup and we'll get a great LB.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cup-tied (read the last paragraph)

and unless moratti went after evra before the signing of wome, it shows he has interest in buying. I still think you could do a lot worse than Favalli and Wome

We definately could, but who? No one really rings a bell. But with us having 3 good players who are bound to leave (Davids, VDM, Coco) we should somehow find a way to incorporate them into trades for a 5th striker and a LB.

Ahh, what a great discussion to wake up to. Good stuff (Y). I'm glad to see Samuel/Figo signings getting closer and closer.

Today Inter will play Crystal Palace.

All the big boys made it over to England to join the team. Lucky English fans :(

INTER: Julio Cesar, Favalli, Materazzi, Mihajlovic, J. Zanetti , Zé Maria , Wome, Stankovic, Karagounis, Cambiasso, Pizarro, Solari, Adriano, Martins, Choutos

Davids on his way
26 Jul 2005 18:40

The Club is delighted to announce that we have signed Edgar Davids on a free transfer from Inter Milan. The player will undergo a medical in the next couple of days and agree personal terms.

The 32-year-old is one of the finest all-round midfielders in the world, combining well-developed technical skills with tough tackling and a will to win.

Head Coach Martin Jol commented: “He is one of the most versatile midfielders, a ball-winner with great stamina and huge charisma and one of the best midfielders to come out of Holland in the last 10 years.

“This is a player who went to Barcelona when they were middle of the league and took them close to winning the title.

“It’s terrific that he is joining us. This is the player we have spoken about who will lift the team’s mentality. We have a young squad with an average age of 23 and I believe Edgar will come in and lead by example.”

Davids has won 73 caps for Holland, representing the Dutch in four major finals and has played in four Champions League finals, tasting victory with Ajax in 1995.

He came through the famed youth system at Ajax where he made his debut aged just 18 and helped the Dutch giants to successive league titles in 1994, 1995 and 1996 and the UEFA Cup in 1992.

A move to Serie A and AC Milan followed in 1996 before switching to Juventus in December 1997.

He spent seven years at the Turin club during which he helped them to the final of the Champions League on three occasions — 1997, 1998 and 2003. He also bagged three domestic titles with Juventus in 1998, 2002 and 2003.

He moved on loan to Barcelona in 2003-04 and was credited with helping turn around the fortunes of the Nou Camp outfit as they finished second that season behind Valencia. He then moved back to Italy joining Inter Milan for the 2004-05 campaign.

Internationally, he has represented the Dutch for over 10 years including appearances in the semi-finals of the 1998 World Cup and of the European Championships of 2000 and 2004.

=-==============================

With Cambiasso exploding onto the seen this year, Davids never had a chance. He won't be missed. That's one less player to think about. Hopefully Coco and VDM are the next ones to go.

I guess that Greeko who came here when he first arrived was speaking the truth. I say we loan him out, bring him back, loan him out again, rot him away on the bench and play him sparingly and play him out of position when he actually happens to find himself on the pitch....it's what we're known for, isn't it?

Inter merda!

I like the sound of it.........that'll be the name of the love child that I have with Patrick Ewing's oldest daughter Lakweshashaanna.

Choutos has been doing well, but Moratti has said that he's young and the best thing for him will be loaning him out to a team where he can start. So I guess he's out of the question as our 5th striker. Oh well. Guess were still looknig. I've heard we are after that Milito guy from Genoa, the same one Juve's after.

Di Vaio played yesterday, so im hes cuptied for rest of season.

Choutos is 25, not that young. Looked good in friendlies and that backheel against pass to Solari was majestic. Milito would be a good (and relatively cheap) buy as well.

They gots to seal Samuel deal before Sunday though so he can be available for CL.

(i keep going to Inter.it hoping to see it completed :$ )

Oh my. That would be excellent! Although I think both he and Samuel may yet stay with Madrid.

Of course you do...

We'll see what happens. It won't bother me either way, except that I'd have to watch more Inter games. And they better not be draws!!!!

That's what Mancini wants... It would be nice to have both for the first leg Champions league... Nothing official yet and anything can happen.

If we get them both I don't think we'll be tying much... IF we get them though.
