Had Mexico won this game, maybe they could have stepped up against Germany and maybe, just maybe snatched a 3-4th place instead of the embarrassment that ensued. I never felt so deflated and embarrassed after a loss before that.

You got dominated, there wasn't a single thing you could change. The German ****er handling the ball on the goal line kept the US out of the semis!

If I recall correctly, near the end of the half there was a corner which one of the US players blatantly punched the ball in the box. Clear penalty. Had that been called, it could have been 1-1, and another kind of game.

The theme of 2002 WC was of teams getting ass raped by the refs. The US got paid back against Germany. Highway robbery, but I enjoyed it.
