On the demo, I think EA are finally on the right track with this. It doesn't seem like the game has reached it's fullest potential, but if they develope this engine for another year then they will have a winner. This is getting very close to PES though already and I'm wiling to bet next year it will be it's equal.

If not...why do you feel so threatened by criticism?

I have never played PES or WE in my entire life...that, however, does not make me like this game anymore.

The thing about the criticism in this thread is that it has been very balanced. People state what they dón´t like, and why they don´t like it. If people were coming in here complaining just for the sake of complaining...then I could have sympathy for your attitude. But as it is now, you only seem childish.

Lov the corner options!! and also the replays when u score a goal! damn when u score from outta the box u have this great back cam! vlooks very real, and I also luv the advantage plays by the ref!

Demo is average at best.

Shooting is apaulling and alot of aspects of the game are highly scripted. Also player movements look unrealistic aswell.

It may be a slight improvement over 2003 but boy do EA have a long long way to go.

At the rate their going we may get a highly realistic Fifa by say 2020

As for buying this one.. i dont think so

i've been foul a few times so.. I dont know about that... about the crosses.. well.. both teams seem to play quick counter attacks. and then they pack in the defence.. and if you lose the ball.. they sprint out using the space you leave... if Sheva beats your defenders you can say bye bye.. cause he is gone.. no way to catch him.. unless you get lucky and you can slide tackle him

I've downloaded the demo and I must say that i'm impressed pritty much. Altough, semi-pro difficulty after some time get's too easy, so Professional is a... must for experienced players.
But, somehow i don't like AI. Opposing team seems not to build any action, or something, slow and cautioned play... no, they are just attacking. That's pritty stupid, but defence is pritty hard to pass.
Anyway, i saw that some people are complainig about graphics. Guys, that's 'cause you have DX 8 graphics card, and on DX 9 is much, much better quality (of course, you need to have a quality DX 9 g-card, like Radeon 9700 pro or 9800 pro).
I like the new and changed features. It could be a really neat game.

Damn I got bored faster than with ISS3.

I am sorry people but "This year's fifa is better than last year" and "this year's fifa is kinda good, almost fun" just doesn't cut it. After 6-7 years and 10+ games I would expect that EA would make a game that is, if not perfect, at least very good. This Fifa04 is average at best.

I would advise everyone to wait for PES3. If it doesn't come out (and it will, it's pretty much for sure), hell, play the PSX games and wait for a PS2 emulator. Or get Fifa98 and play it. Either is better than giving money for yet another average (at best!) game.

still doesnt feel realistic tks god we have PES3 coming to PC soon

but anyway. I have come to a conclusion.
I think FIFAs are for , casual footies, or players that like a more arcade style. Although this is not what im lookin for...
I dont think this is a bad thing either there are lots of people who may like that type of game.

The same happens in another kind of game, Flight Simulators but in this case its the opposite we have lots of real simulation games and almost no games with a more arcade style (so i generally stay away from those game cause i get frustated very soon). So can you see the analogy?

The thing was that PC football fans were stuck with FIFA had no other choice but times are changing

So after playing the demo i would say FIFA is a great game if you like a more arcade style (for example like to score many super goals, etc) but if youre looking for a real simulation wait PES3.

well, I am impressed with the demo, but I am getting a weird issue, the game seems to crash and all the colours from the picture melt off the screen? also the graphics are really **** for me, even when I've changed the resolutions ? any idea what that issue is? sometimes the game locks up and I have to reboot my machine and its weird, the picture melts off the screen! never seen that before on a game, looks funny, but it aint cause I have to reboot the computer

any ideas y?

That melting screen happened to me also, but only once when I hit ESC to get past an animation. When it melted, I just hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and closed the game out from there, no need to reboot your comptuer.

Thank god I don't play soccer games on PC. How can you other who do stand it?

i just came back from playing this game it really rocks! thanks to the demo raptor i had tele for cam so it was perfect! the game is alot more realistic and even though the graphics ARE worse, i dont really care since everyone was whinning about the gameplay in 2003 not the graphics anyway!!

i think EA should just go ahead and make fifa a all out arcade type game it would be better for them anyways and it would turn out to be a good game cuz its clear they cant make a real simulation football game

I'm not satisfied at all. Game feels like a patched up version of 2003 and the Ai seems the same. No noticeable difference. I'm already tired of the demo so i know that will happen with the final version as well.

i liked this demo. got it on 1024x768x32. the graphics look wikid but still not the best i think as will be in the the full game. the way the ball is played is very good altho i do hav some issues:

players a little too slow reacting
shots waaaaay to quick and the curve is just silly
free kicks - preferred last version
sometimes referreing was inconsistent

otherwise i think this game may have a chance of being da best fifa to date. good work ea. altho am a bit concerned with the thing at the end that says "5 year career mode" hummmmm i think thats too short for a career.

I think the game is too slow, althoght I put the fastest option in game speed in demo raptor.
