How Come The Premiership Has Turned Into Serie A ?

Leagues ordered by number of goals scored per match in this season: (I deleted smaller teams, because the list came out ugly when copy &pasted so I had to write the date)

44.Italy 1st 2,6
60.Spain 1st 2,3
67.England 1st 2

Now shut up. England is a snore fast and Spain is only slightly better. Now bow down to the true masters of entertaining football ITALYYYY!!!. From now on I won't speak to any person that is a fan of a team from a league with a lower goal per match average then 2,5 that still believes in the ancient myth of Catennacio. (it is long dead))

P.S.

Germany also plays nice football, but slightly below the level of the top3 leagues especially Serie A, but still entertaining. So if you can't get Serie A in any posiblle way just watch Bundesliga if you want to have fun!

I have to say that West Ham has played the most attacking football thus far...... They take the lead and dont just sit their for the rest of the game...... We are also playing attacking football up until the box area where we try and dribble/walk the ball all the way in instead of freakin shooting more...... :kader:

The EPL used to be a good league to watch, but i'm losing my hopes, at least on watch the big matches. Every god damn big match i watch tend to be boring except for Arsenal - Man Utd matches.

The CL matches between Chelsea - Pool, oh my god, it was as bad as Inter - Milan on the 2002-2003 season. I still watch it, but when i get a good game it's surprising. Last one i watched that i kinda liked, was Boro - Arsenal. Serie A matches tend to be better nowadays, and the big clashes are far more exciting. Milan games are being exciting (Milan - Siena, Milan - Fener, Samp - Milan) lately, the team winning or losing. Man Utd with so many talent are so atrocious in terms of scoring, i mean, their matches are like 1-0 or 2-1, or 2-0 at most.

Pool, well, even more frustrating. Even though we dont have so much talent, we should be scoring more, or at least creating more.

The West Ham/Fulham game and the Villa/Spurs game was real end to end stuff, great specticle.

However the general feeling among a lot managers in the premierleague nowadays is to keep it tight at the back and make scoring second priority.

You guys are crazy. The EPL is still the most entertaining football in all of Europe in my opinion, the reason why the play may have decreased a bit is because teams are trying to emulate success and that is Chelsea but like Bobby said Chelsea can make boring football attractive because of their quality players, Bolton can't.

Dont go quoting a freak start to serie A , compare to goals scored in the premiership in the last 5 seasons and you get rather owned.

Why always bring the Serie A into the discussion about boring football ? Have any of you even watched the Serie A recently ? Just just the odd game now and then, watch it for a while and you'll realize they aren't that defensive anymore.

Keep an eye on the number of goals scored. Its a very effective balance between attack and defense.

The Spanish league has so much simulation ... its painful to watch sometimes.

I tend to dislike the Serie A too, and generally avoid watching italian matches, but yesterday I accidentally watched Sampdoria-Milan. It was right after Liverpool-ManU, and I must say, the match was enjoyable and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the English one. Still, Dutch football owns both.

The EPL is and always has been massively overhyped beyond all proportion. Fair enough there are some really top teams in there but also some bloody gash ones. For one I don't get this myth that the Premiership is exciting and all the other leagues are dull as hell - Lyon for instance. A team that set out to play sparkling football and do so to great effect in the CL. I must have made a mistake with my geography, cause they're not in Ingurlund! :s

And like Yash said, Serie A is more of a league where sensible, effective defensive play is valued as crucially as a quality attack. On that note, I suppose Zlatan and Totti are players who send you to sleep whilst watching them, and players such as Darren Fletcher and Gilberto are ejaculation-inducing. :|

Why cant anybody critisize a league as 'boring' without ignorantly comparing it to the Serie A, suggesting thats a huge insult. Should I apologize that our defences can actually cope with English style long balls, instead of messing up and leading to ugly goals? I flat out dislike watching the Spanish League, but I dont go out and insult it for no reason.

I really have nothing else to add, other than that the EPL title has already been decided 6 games into the season, and your league is pretty much ruined until either Abromovich leaves Chelsea or another ridiculously rich owner buys a club . (Y)

.... and Lecce last season were the most exciting club in any of the top 3 leagues (Y)

Well chelsea until yesterday, when i checked was the highest scoring team in the league. Go figure Chelsea is boring right?lol

nontheless, West Ham is an awesome team. Harewood for England, **** Rooney.lol

you yourself said you were basing the discussion on this season :|

anyways I dont see how English has been the most entertaining. for so many years all the small teams just have a big target man, they launch a long ball, he heads it down, holds the ball up and passes it, goal.

In Serie A, small teams, although they have like 9 players behind the ball, counter attack superbly. You dont see them just blasting off the ball. you see them spread play to the wings and attack. Just see how many quality wingers the 'small' teams have produced :

Marchionni, Diana, Esposito, Bresciano..
