How Come The Premiership Has Turned Into Serie A ?

No wonder the crowds are dropping for premiership matches , this defensive play lark from every team (including Chelsea) has turned our once exciting league into Serie A (zzzzzzz). More draws then ever and fewer goals scored than ever doesnt make for good entertainment - a fine example was yesterdays borefest between Liverpool vs Manure. Luckily I was was able to watch La Liga on Sky and saw great attacking and above all entertaining football.

Big Sam has a lot to answer for.......

Arsenal, Fulham, City and West Ham play attacking football.

But the rest seem content to sit back and hoof. Chelsea's star players make it seem better, because they have skill and speed. But it's the same as Bolton.

I don't buy in this idea, you'll always have teams playing boring football (namely Man utd and Bolton) but there are still a fair few teams playing real football.Granted Arsenal aren't playing the way they should, and the EPL could use a team like Norwich who could score goals but just not defend.

But then there are still teams like Fulham ( :rockman: ),Charlton, Man city and West ham; who are playing some decent football, and in the case of tottenham just can't stick in the back of the net. even Chelsea while they don't score that many do play some attractive football.

The problem is that if you look at my team Fulham, we've been playing some aggresive football, quite well and yet were 16th! Teams like Middlesborough and Bolton go along playing **** football and doing well :kader:

I agree the EPL is gettin less exciting, but at least english teams are maturing and are starting to shine in Europe, more than ever before...

Chelsea have scored 12 goals this season, two more than high-scoring West Ham. Liverpool have managed 1 (yes, one) goal this season in the league. In four games.

Boro and Bolton play to their strengths. Big players who are physical (esp. in Bolton's case) means winning a lot of balls in the air. Hence they lump it. Good luck to them. Do whatever it takes to win.

I for one hope attendance's in the Premiership get worser, but I think the apathetic majority of the supporters still going will continue to put their blind loyalty first and continue to pay for overpriced (£20? £30? £40? £50? fuck off) shite football. If I wanted to watch such boring crap I could always just put in a tape of Wimbledon beating the granny stabbers in the 1988 FA Cup. I cannot wait for the day that the bubble bursts. It's times like this that I really envy Germany. Cheap, affordable, top quality football, best attendances in Europe, and best of all, terracing (yeah, fuck off gay seats).

Don't put Premiership and Serie A in the same sentence.

Also, Serie A has had quite a lot of goals to start off the year. It's looking better each year.

Bearing in mind the team that finished 5TH in the premiership kicked all the "top" itaian teams asses out of Europe we have every right to mention them in the same breath.

Well to put this into perspective, the team that finished fourth just lost 5-1 to Dinamo Bucuresti in the Uefa Cup.

Please allow me to put things into perspective for you - the team that finished first (chelsea) knocked out the spanish champions (barca) and the german champions (Bayern).

Glad we understand now.

Why always bring the Serie A into the discussion about boring football ? Have any of you even watched the Serie A recently ? Just just the odd game now and then, watch it for a while and you'll realize they aren't that defensive anymore.

Keep an eye on the number of goals scored. Its a very effective balance between attack and defense.

The Spanish league has so much simulation ... its painful to watch sometimes.

They would be in any league. No other team in world football can say they have 2 world class players for every position.

Leagues ordered by number of goals scored per match in this season: (I deleted smaller teams, because the list came out ugly when copy &pasted so I had to write the date)

44.Italy 1st 2,6
60.Spain 1st 2,3
67.England 1st 2

Now shut up. England is a snore fast and Spain is only slightly better. Now bow down to the true masters of entertaining football ITALYYYY!!!. From now on I won't speak to any person that is a fan of a team from a league with a lower goal per match average then 2,5 that still believes in the ancient myth of Catennacio. (it is long dead))

FORZA ITALIA!!!!!

P.S.

Germany also plays nice football, but slightly below the level of the top3 leagues especially Serie A, but still entertaining. So if you can't get Serie A in any posiblle way just watch Bundesliga if you want to have fun
