You're asking the wrong person FK. Ask for PSVforever or someone else.

Big news for Holland Casino Eredivisie, a big change in the league: After the normal 34 matches there will be play-offs for the UEFA-cup tickets and the 2nd CL ticket.

Play-offs om verloren terrein goed te maken

24/9/2004 9 :42

From next season there will be play-offs for 4 European tickets. According to the ECV and KNVB this is needed to make the difference in quality between the big footbal countries and Holland smaller.

This is how it will go:
-The champion gets a direct ticket to CL
-The Cup winner gets a ticket for UEFA-cup
-There's a group of the numbers 2,3,4,5 in the league, the first in that group will get into the CL 3rd qualifying round, 2nd and 3rd get an UEFA-cup ticket.
-There's a group of the numbers 6,7,8,9 te firsst in that group will play a play-off match against the number 4 in the group above. The winner will get an UEFA-cup ticket.

I like the idea(Y) Smaller teams with bigger chances.

Smaller teams with smaller chance syou mean. Smaller teams don't have a big squad so they can't cope with players that get exhausted during the long season. Whilst Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV who have the advantage cause they have a bigger squad.

Plus, as Co sayd, it isn't quite so fair cause when you play the whole season very good and you end up 2nd you still gotta play something like 12 matches more to seek that CL qualifying round. So you can still miss Europe after all.

This is gay. Why would the #9 in the competition be able to play UEFA cup? And this is going to exhaust the teams even more...

I changed my mind about the new rule, Gullit on tv convinced me actually, we will now have a chance a subtop team will do good these matches and get the 2nd CL ticket, they won't gather much points in CL, so Holland will go down even further in the UEFA coefficients.:kader:

RBC-Feyenoord 0-4
Kalou (6') 0-1
Goor (33') 0-2
Kalou (61') 0-3
Kuijt (66') 0-4

PSV-Heerenveen 4-0
Lucius (49') 1-0
Farfan (57') 2-0
Vennegoor of Hesselink (63') 3-0
Vennegoor of Hesselink (74') 4-0

Nice goals by Farfan and Vennegoor of Hesselink (3-0) (H) I feared this match, but after Rzasa's redcard we won ver easily, Ajax is still playing at the moment, against Roda, pretty far in the 2nd half still 0-0.

PSV got lucky with that red card. Otherwise it would be alot more difficult for them to defeat Heerenveen. I think if you look at the 1st half we deserved the win but if you look at 2nd half one could say we were lucky Ajax :)

So I wasn't the only one that thought Luinge's second yellow was unnecessary. I don't even think the first one was worth yellow, but the camera angle was terrible on that one. It certainly jump-started PSV. Heereveen kind of let it go after that...

Also, in the first half Huntelaar played like a veteran star... that kid is amazing, it's a shame he doesn't have players behind him to match his skill.

As for the Ajax game, we completely dominated the first half. We got lucky.

EDIT: Topscorers 9/26:

1. Kalou (Feyenoord) 6
2. Vennegoor of Hesselink (PSV) 6
3. Kuijt (Feyenoord) 5
4. Huntelaar (SC Heerenveen) 4

I don't think Ajax has had a topscorer since van Basten..

The PSV vs. ADO Den Haag match was stopped in the 80th minute because of verbal abuse by the ADO fans. They aimed their abuse at mostly Temmink but also Ajax. It all started after a supposed "hand ball" (it was not) and PSV were up 2-0 at the time. Before the match, ADO fans had already injured one PSV fan and damaged 3 PSV buses by throwing rocks :|

ADO fans are the lowest scum of the earth :kader:

Anyway, there's two things going on. A) a possible punishment for ADO which means either a substraction of points or playing a certain amount of games in an empty stadium. B) the end score of the game. They'll either replay the game, play the rest of the game or keep the current score.

There's also the punishment from the verbal abuse during the Ajax game. ADO were offered to play 2 games in an empty stadium. They can accept it or appeal that decision.

To be continued...

Have KNVB made a decision on what they are going to do about this match.
I need to know because of the HCEPL.

For as far as I know they didn't yet. I think they'll count it as a 2-0 win for PSV.

I think ADO should be relegated if they do it again for that matter.

I had to bring up this thread; buried and sad..

Some old news:
Man, Feyenoord have been through some rough times. 2 men red-carded in the Alkmaar game; the defenders Bosschaart and Song. And to top that off, we had a little better performance against Ferencvaros, which in my ignorance have not been able to notice much.

Now to the present (sort of..):
I haven't been able to catch both matches, but I know we won the NAC Breda game by 4. Goor scored 2! And Alkmaar is closing in on us.

Feyenoord also seemed to have signed Diego Biseswar. A 17 year old youngster that played on the youth national level for Holland. Love to see a potential prospect playing greatly for us in the future.
