Holland Casino Eredivisie Thread

Due to popular demand I opened this thread.

My prediction for the 04/05 season: Ajax for the double. PSV has lost some of their important starting XI and got only a few new players and need time to gel. Feyenoord has a great striker in Kuyt and I think he may become this year's topscorer.

Discuss ladies.

I'll keep a bit more of an eye on the Dutch league this season, now that both DaMarcus and John O'Brien play over there.

I sure as hell hope he does, last year he was voted best young player of the league or something like that. There's a great tradition with Ajax and Romanians, first the Romanian coach that won all those trophies with them (can't remember his name right now ), second Chivu, third Lobont, and now Mitea

PS: Whats with the name, Holland Casino Eredivisie is Holland Casino the new sponsor because I don't remember it being called that.

Well, they're main sponsor so it's officialy called "Holland Casino Eredivisie" but usually it's referred to as the Dutch League or the Eredivisie. They've been sponsoring for the past 3 years but they'll quit after this season because the Dutch government decided that HC had a monopoly on gambling or something. Before HC, it was KPN Eredivisie.

well anyway, it's obvious we're going to win. We kept all the good players and PSV couldn't do that, that's going to be the diffrence this year.

well, I think this thread is going to be more geared towards the Ajax fans, since I can think of only 1 or 2 Feyash^t and PSV fans. Maybe we sould just merge it with the Ajax Amsterdam thread, results of all the games(Ajax and the others), transfer talk, etc. can be posted in the thread.

please merge this thread with the Ajax thread. or even better, start over and just delete the Ajax thread completely, and talk in this thread.

anyway, Feyenoord seems alright, we got some of the youth we've loaned out back and improved, and as Vagegast mentioned, we have Dirk as an excellent young striker who may be able to be the top goalscorer without Kezman.

i can see people other than the fan of Ajax () coming here. discussions would be whole lot more improved than the one in the Ajax thread I hope.

Don't merge it with the Ajax thread. I'll talk about any league that I've got a bit of knowledge of/interest in, so I'll post in here, and I'm sure some others will. I'd really have no reason to go into the Ajax thread.

I am not really convinced of Ajax This afternoon you can see why, Stekelenburg wasn't that good, maybe Lobont?

I think it will be a very close season, between the top 3 teams, Feyenoord looks strong, Ajax was strong in friendlies, but not this afternoon and PSV is used to a bad pre-season

And Zlatan, am I the lil' psv fan. Nice

I actually hope this season we'll get another team to win it, wouldn't it be great to see Heerenveen or some team win it.

hehe how biased, coming from a Serb.

he's a good young player. but I expect more for Kuyt. that doesn't mean I don't expect a lot for Lazovic, he's a fantastic player for his age, and he'll develop in the right club.

1. Stekenburg was outstanding yesterday, I reckon a save from that freekick from tanghe which he tipped against the bar, a header from two meters which he managed to tip out and that shot from v/d Bergh from well inside the area he managed to tip it away. I don't understand why everybody is now saying Stekenlenburg is **** only because he made one fault. C'mon give the kid the chance.
oh and btw I'm not convinced of PSV too.

2. yes it seems likely that Feyenoord will be able to battle for the title this season.

3. yep, I believe there isn't another PSV fan here around

4. yes Heerenveen was battling for it in 2001/2002 season but eventually they lost when Mido smacked them to hell with that nice goal. But it remains to be seen wheter Heerenveen is capable to fight in the top without Foppe de Haan( :Bow: ). I think AZ has more chance to battle with the top-3

There's some irony in question our goalie, PSVForever
