Wow amazing. It is already said before by someone: It was 100% NO offside. Because Panucci was outside the field but he count as an player because the Ref did not give him permission to go out. So a brilliant decision of the very good acting referee. Man of the match is Gio but actually the whole team is man of the match. Italy played good too imo. And about the: ''Italy always start bad but then they become top'', since 1994 Italy never lose a starting match at a tournament. And this was the biggest lose of Italy since the WC final of 1970 between Brazil and Italy (4-1).

That shot from Afellay could've been 4-0 for us but it scratched the crossbar and afterwards van Persie... wow we had chances enough to score more goals tonight. Ruud had a fantastic chance alone in front of Buffon as well.. all in all it was a great night for us and it will be a night to remember (especially for the Italians)

Italy have had some opportunities to score and with some luck they would have scored a goal. Two of the goals of Holland were scored immediately after Italy missed a great chance. Van der Sar had to do some brilliant saves and he absolutely changed the match with some saves. So Italy played well but Holland was toooo good tonight.

The way Luca Toni was missing had an eerily familiar ring... WC 2006 he missed some clangers, I know he scored a ****load for Bayern but some of his chances should have been in the back of the net, like the one in the second half when he ballooned his chip over Van Der Sar, his first touch was good but his second one terrible... maybe he didn't realise how much time he did have, but still, the way the Italians were playing, at 2-nil down, putting that chance in could have swung things their way and at least secured a draw because they really were starting to get into the swing of things at that point. Combine that with the Pirlo free kick, if that had gone in... the Italians will in my eyes be favorites to beat France, they did not play terribly at all in my eyes, in the second half at least.

I think they'll rebound..Italy that is....France could be in trouble if they don't beat the Dutch. As for the Dutch, they need to improve their defence, which at times was visibly shaky. If France decide to get more offensive minded, than usual, it will be a real tester for the Dutch back 4, based on today's performance.

I knew romania would be good, their pep was so impresive and have players in great form. they were great today. really furstrated and nullified france.

The smaller teams need to learn from romania (take note swiss and turkey)

as for holland i was unsure because their defence is breachable imo. but jesus, they were perfect, i still can't believe just how dam good holland were vs italy.

italy played very well nothing much went their way but still 3-0

Its only the first game, I think the Italians will beat romania, they will be hurting after today and Romaina will be on the reciving end of this.

although i think romania will annoy holland in the final game whatever happens and could turn them over again. Italy wern't that defensive today. Romania no doubt will put 10 behind the ball.
