but so do you think that netherlands will play in 442 classic with RVN and KJH up front ? if so what will the midfield be like ? kuyt, v.der vaart, sneijder and who else?

According to Marco van Basten, Robin van Persie could be in the starting line up, he's fit and ready to play he said yesterday.
So then it will be van Persie on the left, Ruud and Kuyt on the right probably.
I predict a 1-2 win for US, Italy is good but so are we :cool:

I vote for your prediction, 2-0 for France against Romania, and for 0-0 between France and Holland after.

Goal: Van der Sar
Defense: Bouhlarouz, Ooijer, Mathijsen, Gio
Midfield: de Jong, Engelaar
Attack: Sneijder, van der Vaart, Afellay
Striker: van Nistelrooy

I really don't understand why van Basten wants Mathijsen in defense when he has a player like John Heitinga :willis:

Our attack is very strong indeed with Rafael, Wesley, Ibrahim Afellay and Ruud at the point of the attack and to think that we have players like Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Vennegoor O/H on the bench.
Kuyt and van Persie can play at any time as a sub so our bench is good.
Our weak spot is the defense I think no matter how you look at it that's our Achillesheel.
Good thing we have one of the best goalkeepers of the world in our goal, Sar will stop a few important ones I think tonight.

Probable line-up Italy:

Goal: Buffon
Def: Zambrotta, Materazzi, Barzagli, Panucci
Mid: Pirlo, de Rossi, Gatusso
Attack: Di Natale, Camoranesi
Striker: Toni

Italy is the strongest in defense and midfield so that will be hard to breach for us although our midfield is one of the best as well with Rafael and Wesley.
Toni is one of the best strikers in Europe but so is Ruud so that's going to be fascinating for the neutral fan.
And Italy has a serious weapon on the bench...Alex Del Piero is still one of the best out there and let's not forget Pippo Inzaghi :O

I stick with my prediction for now a very narrow win for us in the end.

Pippo Inzaghi isnt on the team. cassano will come on and score. italy 3 netherlands 1. hopefully, the dutch go through in the group because i hate the french and their colonies. nerderland meisjes met fiesten ftw:bob:

draw would be good, it would definatly make it even more exciting group. however i do see the dutch beating the italians. the only way italy is gona win if they score first.then they will just park their whole team in their own half and defend, they are experts at killing games.

under other circumstances I would say that this game can turn out to be an upset, but the Orange are a very good team. And they are showing it on the field. Two goals by two Real Madrid players... As KingPaulV said, "yeah baby"..

Van Gol and Wesley, making us proud baby!

I am pumped for the dutch and specially impressed by Wesley he has been everywhere...nice match, Italy will come forward which will open them up for a counter, sets up to be a thrilling second half

First goal was legal. Panucci was deemed to be on the pitch as he never had permission to leave the field. By default, Panucci and Buffon were both playing Van Nistelrooy onside. Trust me. Thems the rules.

Sneijder's goal was wanktastic!

Is that so? then yeah i guess it was legal otherwise it would have been CLEARLY offsides, but I am pulling for the Oranje so I was happy anyway!:mike:
