Romania vs Italy will be very interesting...the Italians seemed mentally destroyed by the end of this game and unless they can pull themselves together they might very well get beat again... I just don't know how they'll end up responding to this result. They might stay crushed or they might get really fired up, you never know.

now to italy. why do the world champions rely on the midfield of a team that finished 5th in serie A. we need midfielders who attack, not three players that hang back and play DM roles. yes pirlo is a playmaker but his plays from the back (and he didn't really have a great season), so why do we have two other midfielders that offer really no great offensive qualities that hang around in the same position as pirlo. drop ambrosini or gattuso, bring on aquilani. and why does camoranesi play in a postion that he doesnt play at juventus? he's not a winger, we need more creativity there with del piero or cassano. changes are needed.

Gio was great, twice he was constructing a goal, in a minute from Italy's attack. First he saves the corner from the line and runs up to give a great pass upfront and then he scores one himself.
Also, gotta give recognition for Edvin, great save on the freekick. And, RvN just gained some more respect from me. He could've gone down in the penalty area when Buffon came to him, but he decided to stay up. Many would've just fallen there and taken the penalty gladly (Kuyt...).

Fantastic display by the dutch...specially impressed by Sneijder, Van Brockhorst and Engelar who had a monster game, really the entire Dutch Squad, Oh yeah Ooijer did too as well as Van Der Sar....that is why I love the dutch phylosophy of football, up 2-0 on the world champs and instead of defending they keep pushing up...this is what I had been waiting too see all tournament long from teams like Croatia and Czech Republic...Well Done... HUP HOLLAND!!

Great game by the Dutch....I really enjoyed watching them. The Italians were just lacking something in their midfield until Del Piero came on...perhaps Cassannnnnnnnnno should start in a 4-4-2 next time....ditch Camaronesi. Overall, they seemed a bit slower than I've seen them over the past 2 years.

Listen buddy, to get out of this group we're gonna need all the help we can get. The three teams we are going against all have more world class players than we do and they are all much better than us on paper. In order for us to qualify we need for everything to go our way and the Dutch beating the French would be one of those things. It's like not we're a team of superstars that's gonna go out there and rape everyone. I'm not saying I'm waiting on the pity of others, I'm just saying I'd rather play against the Dutch reserves as opposed to their first team.
As for your little "stab" at Steaua, how about you win a championship, a cup, hell even finish in the top 3 before you run your mouth with that pathetic club you support behind you.

Well suprisingly Italy Drastically reduced there diving. and the ref didnt buy any of the diving Italy did do and because that Italies Crappy team has been exposed. Italy cant win without there pay ref diving tactics.

Wow amazing. It is already said before by someone: It was 100% NO offside. Because Panucci was outside the field but he count as an player because the Ref did not give him permission to go out. So a brilliant decision of the very good acting referee. Man of the match is Gio but actually the whole team is man of the match. Italy played good too imo. And about the: ''Italy always start bad but then they become top'', since 1994 Italy never lose a starting match at a tournament. And this was the biggest lose of Italy since the WC final of 1970 between Brazil and Italy (4-1).

Great game, Italy played well, butt they just couldn't keep on the Dutch, they where mutch stronger. Engelaar, Kuyt, Gio and Sneijder where Amazing, lets hope the dutch continue this away, if they do, shut have nobody a change!
