I'd really love for Ibra to stay at Inter but at Barca he could either flop or create a way better team.

Eto is a deadly fast goal scorer, Ibra is an amazing creative technician. He is very tall and strong but also creates beautiful plays. He might make Barca play even more beautiful football.

by the way, I'm not saying barca should not bring Ibra and sell Eto'o, I'm just saying the transfer money should be reasonable while you can't pay 50 mil for Villa.

Pep himself was a risk.
I think Barcelona have made a good deal, they have bought possibly the best non-La Liga player. Keeping Eto'o would have been to big a risk, he might not have shown any commitment which would damage this team because they need to be at their best because Madrid is stronger and in the Champions League Juventus are also stronger. A player like Ibrahimovic wants to win the Champions League badly so will be very motivated to do well and as Xifio earlier said he is an Ajax player so will know the Barça style in it's purest form.
Financially it looks like Inter have gotten the better deal, just like Juve did in 2001 with Zidane, but Ibra could perform so well it would seem like Barça got a bargain.

While that is true to a certain extent, some of the blame has to be put on Laporta, Pep, and co. It's not like Eto'o turned Ronaldinho and become a fat, useless, and uninterested player. Trying to kick him out of the club for 2 years and than offering an extension of 2 years with same pay does not tend to go well with players.

Just look at Goal.com, it says no deal for Ibra-Eto'o yet and Valencia rejected the latest Villa offer. I think it's all about mind games right now but still there are some clubs that want Eto'o with a good cash.

villa = 50 mil
Ibra = 40 mil + Eto'o + Hleb on Loan

it means if Barca sells Eto'o at least 10 mil, then villa transfer is exactly same unless Prophet Pep thinks Ibra is a better player than villa+eto'o.

I have to agree... if Barca give all that for Zlatan then Inter are going to be laughing all the way to the bank. It will be interesting to see what he does though if he has a creative attacking midfield behind him and Alves feeding him headers.

Well, I'm not saying I'm completely behind the deal, or anything. Pep wanted him out before last season too, and there must've been some kind of reason for it. We can all make guesses about the situation, but only they really know for sure.

And I don't think anyone is blaming him on Ronnie's situation, far from it. He seemed a bit off the previous season too. Pep probably thought he would have a hard time to get back in world class form with his ongrowing ego, and thought it would be easier to just swap him for someone else. As it is, it didn't happen and Samu had a hell of a season. They offered him an extension, but as he isn't willing to sign one, we really have no other choice than to sell him. Simple as that.

Eto'o actually said thanks to pep at their championship ceremony and he really worked hard last season and I can rarely remember any problem from his behavior last season, I don't understand why pep feels so insecure about him!!!!

I think Ibra would technically play great but I'm sure he will cause so many problems as well as his performance will not be as great as Eto'o or Villa.

Ok you know your team situation better than me, there is no doubt about that. so eto'o should go.

But you always criticize madrids for their mad spending, you think Ibra switch with Eto'o+40 mil+ hleb will make sense? Its like playing 70+ million for Ibra (in this case you loose two players as well) while you can bring Villa with 50 million whithout loosing Eto’o and Hleb. Then you can sell them and provide some cash as well. YOU STILL THINK I’M WRONG?

I wonder why Laporta and Barca management didn't ask Eto'o to sign contract extension during season, then they could sell him with a better price. It's what ManU normally do to avoid cheap transfers.

Valencia don't want eto'o... I think all us culers in this forum wanted villa over ibrahimovic, but we also trust pep and if he thinks its a better deal, then so what i'll support he

BTW, if ibrahimovic puts his ego aside and works hard like pep thinks he is going to, I think this will be a special team with him at catalunya, the man has potential up the a**!!!!!!
