I'm pretty sure Sir Alex didn't shake his hand at all. Mourinho had his "cool" face during the entire match, and when he went over to shake Sir Alex's hand it was the first time I saw him smile and then instead of shaking his hand, Fergie was waving his finger and declaring something, and Mourinho just sort of jumped back and looked shocked. I doubt he would have swung at Fergie though ;)

Help?

I doubt so too, because Mourinho can keep his composure very well. When Mourinho was coming too him, Ferguson just took his hand, kind of shaked it and turned to Mourinho's side to tell him something and then they both started walking of the pitch and Alex made an arm swing to show like what was Baia doing? So yeah they did shake hands and will doing that Alex told something to Mourinho and Mourinho hearing that stopped looked angriely at Fergie, while Fergie did his swing.

Tonight. We were poor. Very poor. Lucky to come away with a one goal deficit.

Giggs was one of the only plus points for me, chasing back and tackling. Like everyone else, he did little going forward.

Ronaldo, why didn't he start? He'd have given us more attacking presence, and has probably the best knowledge of any of our players of Porto, and their playing style.

Fergie reckons that we used the ball well when we had it. Was he watching the same game? Once we scored, when we actually got the ball, we were ****, and did nothing.

Keane, maybe shouldn't have been sent off, but it was needless, despite the theatrics from Baia. He's in no position to be lecturing the youngsters on temperament, when he does something like that. Now we're without him for the 2nd leg, meaning that we have little option than to perservere with Butt in the middle.

I seriously hope we get a better ref for the 2nd leg - one that might actually be able to spot their blatant diving and playacting.

Furthermore, I hope we put up a better performance than that tonight, because that was totally unacceptable. We've gambled our whole season on it again. Resting players, signing Saha because he could play in Europe, etc, and if we don't come up with the goods in two weeks, then that will be that for this season.

Its kinda funny how when Wes Brown performs badly everyone gets on his case but when he plays well some people dont give him what he deserves.

He along with Giggs and Gary were our best players today.

He follows Arsenal. Look at the sig.

to say they haven't beaten anybody after the finish a convincing win is a pretty dumb statement regardless of who he supports

so within 2 weeks you'll be able to replace your cpt and fix a defence that has more holes than swiss cheese. when was the last time you won 1-0? your one saving grace is silvestre might be back in time, i heard three weeks or so but fergie might press him.

Realistically Porto will score at OT so that will mean we'll probably have to win by 2 goals to get through,we can't even beat Leeds by 1 goal! so IMO it will be a tough task and playing like we are at the moment i make Porto slight favourites to go through. :(

I hope we put up a better performance than that last night, because that was totally unacceptable. We couldn't keep the ball, we couldn't win the ball, keep losing it. it was our BIGGEST game of the season! and for fcuks sake we had ONE chance at goal in the whole game, pathetic. :kader:

do you think the reason you played badly is because fc porto is actually a decent team with some very talented players. it wasn't like man u was playing against 11 bums from a second division club out there. remember this is a team that won 4 trophies last year, took last year cl winners to the wire, and drawed with real in madrid with out our full squad. but still man u fan here seem to fail to give any credit for porto playing well.

all right, Porto played well and deserved to win, you could have won by more, we were lucky to only lose 2-1, I am just pissed off by our performances. :(
