He's that young dude playing for Columbus who is supposed to be the next Claudio Reyna... Well, I don't think there is a next Claudio Reyna, because he is just damn good.

this is top quality posting really
But you have to remember that the other NT will be developing as well. Brazil will have Robinho, Kaka, Diego and Adriano at their peaks, not to mention Argentina with Cavenaghi and Tevez, Italy with Gilardino and Cassano, plus France can always get some senegalese or argelian and turn him into a genius.Originally posted by Elder
It's not scary to me, but I am sure it is scary to the rest of the world. As if America didn't have enough people hating it already. The one thing the world can always fall back on when it comes to America is "well, we know what football is and it's not played with a brown oblong ball."
If the US wins a World Cup, I bet people protest. 2010 is the target.. Donovan, Adu, Martino... they are all being groomed.

Furthermore Portugal has never reached a final.

Oh and maybe Portugals NT have not achieved anything great in football......but they have the respect of the footballing world because their players are at least Portuguese and not made up of international mercenaries......and besides that they are a very old football nation and for that, as with many countries ,are entitled to respect.......And it dont matter how many World cups you win with a bunch of mercenaries.......you will never win respect

not again that freakin game in 2002...
the point is that americans keep going on and on about their mediocre players and their crap league, I'm not saying Portugal is better than them, I'm just saying they suck and I would never refer to Portugal's national team as they refer to their own national team. Even though I think we are much better at most levels and I also think we also won't be winning the WC any time soon.
I roared with laughter because Elder spoke about Reyna as someone would speak of Pele or Maradona. :funny:
And I'm not really in the mood for another discussion about the game in the World Cup because we also lost to Korea and I don't see any koreans rubbing it to our faces, everytime they're given the chance.
And for instance France lost all their games at the WC and look how they are now... do people in Senegal think they are better than France?
You know zilch about football if you think you can grow a world cup winning team in 6 years relying on 3 or 4 players that are unproven atm, when there's countries with the pool of talent like Brazil, Argentina, France, Italy, etc where the difficult thing is to pick a team because there are so many damn good players.
