Black entertainment TV....Asian news network......The Arab channel.......these sections of the media cater for minority groups,where people of a different ethnicity can be sure to find programming that interests them.
Look at mainstream TV(in England at least).WTF is there on the box that reflects these peoples cultures?Absolutely nothing at all.So they get up off their arses and create some media entertainment for themselves.Apart from being entertained,these outlets also provide many jobs within the media for ethnic minorities that they would not stand a chance of getting somewhere else.In England the media is controlled by the middle classes,and although they like to think that they are"enlightened",you only have to find out how many black ,asian or chinese people actually have made it to the top in TV and radio,to realise that the scales are still weighed against them.Sure we have Black newsreaders,and Black DJ's with their own shows,but for a country with such a huge racial mix,the numbers are disgracefully low.

The MOBO awards (Music of Black Origin),were first instigated because Black musicians at one time were under represented,so again they got up off their arses and did something about it.You can create an award program too.You can call it MOWO (music of white origin),if you want to,but WTF are you gonna play on it?.....Beethovan?....Strauss?......Any contemporary music worth anything at all, has its origins in Black music.Whether its Rock,Dance or pop.Bands are getting more and more influenced by styles of black music all the time.Sure they adapt it to suit themselves but the influence is there.It works in reverse too of course.Black artists have learned a hell of a lot from white artists too.
The MOBO's aint trying to draw a line between black and white ,and if you are offended or affronted by by it,or anything similar to it,then you need to ask yourself WHY.As a white person you probably have all the representation that you need within the media,and if you dont.....then get off your arse and do something about it instead of slating people that do...........

I suggest a three year ban, with a review at the end to see what changes have been made.
