Wow, the new jersey looks beautiful. It was one thing seeing it in a preview pic, and another to see the kit worn by the players. It confirms how nice it is. (Y)

Great game by everyone, the offence continues to roll. Now we take first place in the group but Libertad has one game in hand.

Axolote, you posted the wrong pics! :fool: The new "telon" River showed today was just amazing, it covered nearly 1/4 of the stadium. Far bigger than the last one. It also required more than 100 people to carry out of the stadium.

I'll leave a couple of pics of it:

Yes, Snyper, the new flag its amazing...when it came down and the entire stadium started to chant was incredible...!!!

I loved the shirt without sponsor.

BTW, Last week i went to see Oasis, here in Buenos Aires, and they throwed a shoe to the stage, Noel grabed it and said ''Adidas, not Nike ****'' becouse the shoe was Nike...hahaha.

Gremio sure is bitter about their arch-rivals Inter success... one of their directors said this:
"who did the 'galaticos' play against so far? Nacional, from Uruguay, is just a glamourized Piaui (very small club, not sure if it plays in any of the three national divisions)"

source: http://esportes.terra.com.br/futebol/estaduais2006/interna/0,,OI918778-EI6195,00.html (brazilian portuguese)

also, it was nice to see Goias winning... they're now top of their group, with a good chance of qualifying before the last round

"Galacticos"?....Inter.....
Inter is just a flash in the pan (Like Villarreal). Isn't this like their first time to qualify since Nacional beat them in the 1980 final?

Saying what you said is like saying:

"Us....the great Motherwell.... have no competition. We only have Real Madrid in our group <Imagine , like Nacional, that Real Madrid is going through a rough point in their history>."

Nacional is a 3 X World Champion......3 X America Champ......and a bunch of times 2nd places.

The lack of respect outstands me (And its not because Inter has a grand total of "0" respect from America....but outsider fans shouldn't say stupid comments like that. ) (Even if Boca were struggling to qualify somewhere, they are still Boca.....catch my drift?)

well, that's exactly his point... everyone praising Inter, not giving Gremio any chance in their regional championship

no idea... don't follow Inter closely enough, nor do I want to... anyway, quick search informed me thy also played in 1989 and 1993

The quote came from a rival director man...

Gremio too has its importance in S. Am. competition, though not as much as Nacional

hmmm... maybe it works for some teams, not sure if all teams deserve such respect... Nacional sure does, but say, I wouldn't be scared to play against Nottingham Forest, even though they have achieved great things...

I personally think the comparison with Real Madrid and Boca is way over the top. We’ve achieved nothing more than a Quarter Final in the Libertadores and a Semi Final in the Sudamericana in the last decade. Respect only lasts for as long as you pose a considerable threat, and Nacional hasn't for a very long time.

As for the praising bit, he was clearly making fun of Inter. Like Damiani was when he called us the elite team after our draw with Maracaibo.

Hmm, too much hype over River's victory, but it was bound to happen, i mean a second division team from Brazil that almost got relegated to the third division and plays against River at Monumental, i pity them.:o

Heh Vélez almost messes up with Universitario, good to see that the peruvian teams seem to be getting up, hopefully for them it isn't too late. Yeah they are my candidates for the cup too. Vélez formula = not available in Europe.

Estudiantes still may have chances they won today 1-0.

On the other hand Newell's doesn't seem to get up.

You better look into a museum if you're interested about the past. The fact is, Nacional is a average team in Libertadores for the past few years, at best. Also, it would be nice to know the difference between club and team. Calling Nacional a mediocre club is outrageous. But they're a badass club with a mediocre team.

Like my local club, Guarani, for example. We're very traditional in the country, everyone knows about us but we have a sucky team so no-one fears us.

Got to see how Chivas plays tomorrow in Brazil. And in the other hand Pumas is doing ****. Good victories for the venezeulan teams Caracas over Cienciano and Maracaibo over Pumas, guess they aren't the no one teams anymore.:o
Is it me or Newell's group is very crappy?:nape:
Also got to see what does River Plate do against the POWERFUL Paulista FC.

Heh guess the "galacticos" drew with Nacional.

Nah not really, theyre just in really bad form. They wouldve won the Copa Sudamericana if the red wouldnt have been so biased to not send off el Pato for handling the ball outside the box.

They certainly choked when they played Saprissa here last season.....but I don't follow them that close overall....you certainly would know more about them then me....on the other hand Toluca had some great luck when they palyed here.....although the ref was a clown.

Last year's could had been final.
If only there hadn't been a Confederations Cup. :nape:

Chivas 2 - 1 Sao Paulo in Mexico.
Chivas 2 - 1 Sao Paulo in Brazil.

The best in the world?
Two times defeated, with a 100% mexican team.
