damn, brazilian soccer is still dominating...

id say Inter will win it, with some goals from Wason Reinteria

Nah São Paulo got a long way before equalizing with us on the Libertadores.:ewan:

Anyway it would be cool to see Internacional to win since they never won any before.:o

That is so sweet, for both teams I must say. Current Campeonato Brasileiro standings have us on the lead, followed by Inter three points behind. And both teams will field reserve sides this Sunday... :corn: The funny fact is that Inter will meet Santos, and will be overtaken by then in case thay lose. Exactly on the same circunstances (we with the B-squad) Santos amassed a 4-0 away win on us - yes, 4-0. Luxa and co., damn lucky bastards with that sub-standard team...

There are two points not so sweet about all of this, though:

* That 4-0 and 1st half plays like that seater wasted by Bofo have shown the worst of our defense. It just misses the plot completely at times, a lot more often than last year. Guys like Fabão, Alex and EdCarlos have their good days but often are more like walking grenades. I'd only hope that André Dias returns ASAP (away due to legal BS with his former club).

* The 2nd leg will be away. As Grunger adressed, it adds a whole new level of tension...

As for the match itself, what else can be said? Rogério managed to top his feats on that penalty decision with that AWESOME game turning event and Ricardo Oliveira is officialy back for all intended purproses. And pasion, Lugano OWNS :rockman:

Now, time to hold our breaths, for those will be two HUGE matches. Time to make the earth shake!

The Mexican League hasn't even started, and we are already giving up 3 points on the first game against Toluca, just so Vergara can make more money with his exhibition game in Los Angeles against Barcelona.
Yeah, I don't like that either but apparently Toluca had initially agreed to postpone the game but they went back on that decision. I don't know, maybe they'll underestimate us and we can get at the very least a point from the game. :p I agree with everything you said though, especially the refuerzos or lack there of. No one can honestly tell me there wasn't a better midfielder available than el Chato. :nape:

EDIT
2-0, Sobis again :wootman:

Tinga is having a tremendous match too.

Sobis deserves a call-up. He provoked São Paulo during the week and he showed it on the pitch. He made a fool out of Fabão.

really great match to watch (Y)

Larrionda did great except for not sending off Fabão, but can't say the same about the linesmen :nape:

Sobis looked awesome..he's not the model brazilian forward which has loads of skills but does little with it, the man's football is really mature and objective.
I think he'd do great playing in Europe...

other players that did very well were Tinga as I mentioned earlier, plus Clemer was a giant in Inter's goal, for São Paulo Souza had a brilliant match too...Cicinho will be soon forgotten if he keeps that form.

can't wait for the second leg :corn:

Rafael Sobis is awesome. I hope Dunga calls him for the NT, he deserves it.

Great game overall, that late goal by Sao Paulo added more tension for the second leg game, I can't wait for it (C)

Rafael Sobis was incredible except for that one miss :fool:

Souza was also brillian except for that one miss :lui:

How good is Tinga? I know there is a good chance he ends up at Dortmund after this tournament so I was wondering what kind of player he is. Any info would be great. :chew:

Now this was an excellent match.

The rhythm never slowed down at all.
Great football, followed by even more great football. (Y)

Sao Paulo's defence looked really bad though.
If Lugano doesn't have a good game, the thing just explodes all over the place!
Scary...

has an amazing fighting spirit, never gives up on a play....one gets tired watching him run :fool:
his technique is good enough but mind that he's not an offensive midfielder...not a holding midfielder aswell, I'd say he's a pure #8.

he had a short spell with Sporting, made a few good matches but was not a first choice for their midfield....I think he'd do great in Germany though, football there is much more physical and would sooth his play better.
I say you guys should go for it :jambo:

I thought he had a great game (none of the goals were his fault) and he won every loose ball/header that went his way.

The red card changed things alot though (like Sao Paulo played better when they had 10 men........that's football you)

But yeah. Sao Paulo's defence isnt exactly the best, like Lugano's face is enough to scare them straight (he looks so tense/pissed off)

I have little doubt that Sao Paulo will turn this around to tell you the truth, unless they get extremely unlucky. They have alot of personality to handle these hard games like next week.
