Barça conceded 2 goals to Deportivo last match, and Depor isn't the old great team that astonished Europe years ago. Defence is still Barça weak point, so if Chelsea can take profit of this they still have a chance.

Though I doubt they'll make it

2-1 Chelsea and penalties lottery. In what regards Mourinho´s attitude, it´s all show off. Alot of persons have already stated that he is a completely diferent person outside the pitch. He takes his job very seriously and he probably pushes a little too much but people who know him since his Portugal years, know that he was always like this. He prefers to take the heat and divert the pressure from his players. He will defend his club no matter what (till death as he has often stated). I actually think he is beggining to enjoy this kind of events.
About all these moralists preaching about his conduct, this is something that amuses me greatly. Specially when it comes from supporters of a club who have people on their ranks who spat on professional collegues from the back, who threw pig heads at a player, who chanted things like "Figo PORTUGUÊS, hijo da puta es", who spat and insulted the ppl in the Chelsea Bus. Doing monkey noises and trying to frame Chelsea fans. Real class fans, they really deserve the fair play. It was prolly the Ultra Sur eh? I didn´t heard anything about this when Barcelona went to London. Ahh yes the moralists and their conducts, real role models.

pff..

First you admit that Mourinho provokes all this hate on purpose (to take pressure off his players, of course) and at the same time you complain because people react to his provocations. Heh..

I've read articles against Mourinho even in the most anti-Barça press in Madrid and they've not even played against Chelsea. Mourinho's methods are only good for Chelsea fans and Mourinho wannabes.

I think Rijkaard gave Mourinho a lesson of fair play last year and this year is still better. Everytime there's a press conference, it's funny to see how Rijkaard instead of answering all the stupid things Mourinho can say, Rijkaard ignores all that and he praises Mourinho. Pure class.

No you got it all wrong. I didn´t complain about anything in my post. I stated facts. I was just pointing the fact that you Barcelona fans put yourselfs in such a moral high ground that it´s amusing for the read some of the pearls that have been wrote here. Rijkaard in the first leg also tried to wind up Mourinho, as the Catalan press did and he reacted. Then you whine about his conduct and his reactions and i politely give examples of how you aren´t really examples for anyone in moral grounds ok?
Plz don´t hold grudges towards me Dream Team, because i know that Catalan people can hold them for ages. It´s just a friendly discussion :boohoo:

Oh Rijkaard, the "spitting saint". Months before the tie, Rijkaard was the one who also took this to the personal level when he made assumptions about Mourinho´s caracther in his private life. See? there´s the diference btw him and Mourinho. Mourinho keeps it all in the game and competence sphere´s, the other´s (who are really no saints, Voeller must really love Rijkaards personality and conduct) talk about personality outside the football stadium. Rijkaard conduct smells like hipocrisy, aww the victim of Mourinho´s conduct. No you really you are right, he is a saint and his past proves it.

You're complaining again.

I don't know what you're talking about. Most people in this thread are Chelsea haters, Mourinho wannabes, gloryhunters or neutral fans. There are only a few Barça fans and a few Chelsea fans and they have not talked too much.

Where you see facts I see BS but I don't have any intention of discussing with you as you seem hurt because a few fans chanted "Ese portugués, hijo puta es". I recommend you to not watch the game tonight because probably more people will chant against Mourinho.

Hahaha :D

Good try.

Team Captain
I've waited and watched for a few days now, and i think now is the time to mention this.

We all remember when the Turkish fans met the Swiss coach at the Airport before the World cup qualifying game in Turkey dont we? We all remember how critical we were of those Turks that felt that it was ok to rain missiles down on the team bus. We condemned those same Turkish fans for spitting at the Swiss team bus, because as civilised peple, we know that behaviour is just not acceptable don't we?

So where ( maybe i missed it) are the posts from Barca fans condemning the disgusting behaviour of some of their so called fans at Barcelona airport? Is it so wrong for Turks to behave like that but its alright when its Spanish people?

I ask you this Barca fans. When your team and management staff arrived at Heathrow airport for the first leg of this tie, why were they not treated with the same sickening welcome as your own fans provided for Chelsea? Did we lie in wait for Rijkaard and the players and push, jostle and spit at them as they emerged from the terminal? No we didn't. We have better things to do than meet opposing teams at airports. To us, it is just a game of football, It is not personal, its just a game, and just because Barca happen to be our opponents, does not give us the right to abuse their team on arrival in England.

Of course as usual this lowlife behaviour was perpetrated by just a few hundred Barca fans but where, just where is the shame or disgust from the real Barca fans on these boards? I do not see it.

The Spanish media have inflamed Barca passions too, so that has not helped. I though the English media were crap but this week i have seen headlines in the Spanish press which are incitement to violence, especially to the less intelligent among Barca fans.

I just find it hypocritical that one set of "fans" are condemned by everyone, including UEFA, for hooliganism, and another set of "fans" doing the same thing does not even warrant a mention from UEFA or even other Barca fans.

Are you disgusted? Barca fans, did these scum embarrass you and your club ? Then lets hear what you have to say or maybe we will just assume that you find that kind of hooliganism acceptable as long as its by your own fans.

I notice today the Spanish press is trying to calm things down a little. Too late for that in my opinion. UEFA will be watching tonight and you had better hope that these same thick idiots do not decide to behave in a way that will bring you and your club into disrepute. If they do, then it will be very interesting just what UEFA do about it.

For me, this crap has overshadowed the game tonight. Personally i dont give a s.h.i.t what happens score wise. i have lost interest.

European football is meant to be a celebration of the game we love and not an excuse for an outpouring of hatred. I'd rather not be in Europe than have to see that kind of lunacy.

What? I think it's the opposite, he has always said that Mourinho is a great coach but he doesn't know him personally so he can't say anything about him.

You're dead wrong and I think you need to relax.

Once again i´m not complaining, i stated facts. My facts are as Bs as your claims about the remarks anti-Barça media made towards Mourinho. You have your sources and i have mine. No and i´m not hurt, i actually think that it was something positive for Figo, he won and achieved things in Real Madrid that he could hardly achieve under Gaspart or Nunez. And i mentioned that chant just to prove how classless you ppl are. Instead of focusing the insults on the person, you chose to include the nationality. And no it wasn´t "Ese portugués" it was "Figo portugués" and i just mentioned this incident because it had repercussions in Portugal and everyone knew the intent. Not that i care or am hurt. Sincerily i don´t give a damm about what you or Neovico write (mostly whine with Madrid as scapegoat for everything), i do read Panxoman´s posts with some interest although (historical purposes). I just like the friendly arguments.

Nah you are the one who is misinformed. He said that he is a great coach but he didn´t like his attitude and that he would pass the oportunity to meet him (when Mourinho already claimed that he didn´t have anything against Barcelona and didn´t hold any grudges towards the past). But that´s something acceptable you don´t have to like everyone, it´s an understandable reaction. Btw Mourinho already said multiple times that he feels like a Barcelonista (for all the years he spent on the club) and he always roots for Barcelona to win the championship. And i read this from imparcial media, not Spor or Mundo deportivo. You can depreciate the efforts he made when he was Robson´s assistante manager (not translator according to the wise omnipotent Neovico) but the English did consider him one of the vital parts of that year´s sucessfull cup campaigns and he did contribute to your teams glory and history.
You just hold grudges and like to persecute ppl. It´s okay to find reasons to divert attention, although this year it won´t be necessary because i sincerly think that Barcelona will go through.

Well, I don't believe you.

I don't know why you come up with the Figo thing now. You believe this is something against Portuguese people or something and it seems you take it as something personal.

You don't read my posts, so?. Congrats. I wish some other haters do the same.

I also only answer people who I respect. I have to admit I respected you.

You are who is not being friendly here.

If you want to read my sources, here an article from AS.com

Well it isn´t from Catalunya but it´s Spanish, it´s obvious that they won´t antagonize Barcelona and will take their side. His article is incorrect also, because it was Robson who was trying to wind up Mourinho, his staff and players, so Mourinho reacted and defended them.
I don´t think there´s any point in proceeding with this discussion because i´m not impressed by the role Barcelona choose to play and won´t change my mind and i will not obviously change yours.
Yes and i came up with the Figo issue just to explain how dispicable the behaviour of your supporters was. I don´t give a rats ass about Figo or what he done but when you involve a whole nation in the insults, it is obvious that i will take it personally. I´m extremely patrotic and nationalistic, you would prolly understand that if you were in my case, but since your case is diferent (perhaps with a diferent Estatut) it must be hard to get.
Keep your spanish quotes for yourself, they won´t convince me. You know they take alot of stuff out of context. I won´t post my portuguese quotes either (you probably won´t understand) and there is no way that we will find out who is telling the truth

exactly my opinion. as i said, alot of people in the Barca forums were happy he got spat at. just because its Mourinho, doesnt mean its suddenly okay to do these things in the world of football.
and people arent accusing Barca's fans, just because its Barca, and oh, they play such beautiful football compared to Chelsea's crappy style. give me a break...

It´s a recorrent method used by Barcelona. I don´t know, it´s must be a way to intimidate ppl or to motivate their culé pride. Either way with conducts like this, i don´t think they can act like victims. Because there aren´t any in this process.

I don't think Barça is responsible of what some Barça fans said "in other forums" and I don't think the Barça fans of this forum have to answer that either. If you want to argue, go to that forum.

You're a Barça hater and you ignore the things you want. The Chelsea fans were happy, also in this forum, when Frisk had to retire because he and his family received death threats and hauges also received death threats after the last game. It's stupid to talk about the attitude of some fans and generalize to all what Barça or Chelsea are. Now that I've remembered these disgraceful events, I'm sure you are very disappointed and you won't support Chelsea anymore, right?

I'm glad you visit Barça forums though. Keep it up.

its not a Barca forum i visit, but a general football forum. and i dont support Chelsea, youre right tho, i dislike Barca.
and why wouldnt you want to answer for the actions of those Barca fans that spat at the bus? you accused Madrid fans of being racist, atleast the ultras minority (i agree with you on that), and would you be happy if I said "oh sure they're racist, but im not, so i dont care". you have to take the good sides and the bad of your club, not ignore anything negative regarding Barca...even if its not you spitting at Chelsea's bus.

You see you like distort facts too. First, it wasn´t Chelsea fans (at least from this forum who were pleased and winding up ppl when this happened). In the Hauge case it was a Manchester United gloryhunter Lee Stewart wannabe. Second, all the respectable Chelsea fans (TBB, Pede and Rob) condem this atitude. Did you condem the Barça fans who threw mobile phones and a pig´s head to Figo? I sincerily don´t think you did, i may be wrong, but i know that deep down you were extremely pleased.
