Chelsea vs. Liverpool

I think we will get Liverpool considering they have no country protection and we are likely to finish second. We've seen 'what are the odds' draws in previous seasons though.

They plan to show United tomorrow?

Hope Benfica win, because if United advance then we KNOW which knockout match we get to see.

this is why I hate the point system, They should only award 3 points for wins not wins and draws. teams will try harder to score.

Meh Chelsea dissapoint again. I thought as they had nothing to lose we would see an all out Chelsea attack but far from from it , how many times do they have to pass it back to Terry.

Bercelona will be licking their lips after watching that performance.

Funny really, Chelsea and Liverpool have played each other 4 times in the champions league and they've only managed one goal between them, a debateable one at that.

It just highlights the difference between European and domestic football. Neither teams were willing to risk anything tonight therefore it's understandable the game finished in stalemate however if it were a league game i believe it would have been a different story.

gabs485, i wouldn't necessarily say the points system is at fault. The group stage in general provides little incentive for teams to go out and put on a show especially in situations like tonight. Arguably the competition should consist of a knockout round from day one but that has its disadvantages too.

Cheer up about seeing United, everyone. If they somehow fail to score and get knocked out by say a draw in the other game, would you really want to miss the look on their faces?

Essien is quite clearly our Keane/Vieira/Gattuso in the making. Give him a few seasons and he will be better, and sadly also filthier than them all.

Anyway, until today with the advancement of Milan, finishing second didnt seem all that bad. Lets assume that Villareal and Bayern win their groups tomorrow. That means a second place English team can be drawn against
-Barca (yipes)
-Bayern (also not good)
-Villareal (something I will take my chances on)
-Lyon (same as above)
-Inter (worries me slightly)
-AC Milan (worries me greatly)
-in the mancs case, Liverpool (that would be an awesome tie)

as opposed to an english team that finishes first, who can draw
-Ajax
-Udinese or Werder
-Juventus (i would sh*t myself, literally)
-PSV
-Rangers
-a Madrid with something to prove

so clearly, there was an advantage to finishing top today. Alot will depend on how Group A shakes out tomorrow. If Bayern trade top with Juve after theyre finished, though I think goal differential will be the kicker, we might just be boned in 50% of the circumstances

Dissapointment isnt how your rivals play in a champions league match. Dissapointment is being 14 points adrift

It was when you called Milan both boring and lucky that people got really pissed.

I remember your pink signature well (H)

In any event all that 'english football is boring as hell' talk is gonna make a comeback...until we waste liverpool in the league again.

Inject an explaination about how each team bought its respective title, and I would assume youre doing your best LeeStewart impression :(

Is xbiz.xhomo93whateverelse still permanently down? (H)
