The points Pete listed have been his main weaknesses for years. It's not an issue of just getting used to it or settling in. I didn't understand (aside from the cash) why he moved to England in the first place. Of course these fast-paced matches will expose his weaknesses. The guy's 30, he's not gonna become a different player.

Man....just as I was feeling confident that he will eventually excell.....you burst my bubble.....:mexican:

Seriously though, do you really think that this is the best we can hope to see from Ballack then man?

He can do much better than what hes doing now. I'm not saying he will get better(he's 30), he will get used to the EPL, then his skills will kick in.

A statement from Jose today regarding his future at Chelsea....

Mourinho declared: "There are only two ways for me to leave Chelsea. One way is in June 2010. I finish my contract then, and if the club does not give me a new one, it is the end of my contract and I am out.

"The second way is for Chelsea to sack me, because there is not a third way - the way the manager decides to leave and walks away. No chance!

"I would never do this to Chelsea supporters - no chance."

Its good that finally he has made clear how he feels. Now the media and the haters will have to find something else to s.h.it stir about.

John Terry is out of the Carling Cup Final on Sunday but Jose said that he will be back next weekend for the Portsmouth game. Great news there too.

Ashley Cole and Arjen Robben will be fit for the Final. Essien will play in central defence in place of JT so no worries there either.

4 Coppa Italia's, two Supercoppa Italiana's and one Scudetto aint a bad record Mark. Plus he played in the EPL for Leciester City too so he knows what the EPL is like.

Very tempting but I think we will stick with Jose for now man......:mexican:

I’ve been waiting for an official statement from Jose good to see he is staying with the club because I feel he is the best man for the job at Chelsea.

Can't wait for Sunday should be an interesting game. Good to see JT will be back for the game at Fratton Park. We are going to have a game in hand so I hope Fulham can do something against united this week.

Great performance by Chelsea, they really stepped up their play after going down 1-0 and looked very impressive.

The best thing for us is always to go a goal down it seems. We start games so slow and cautious. Then we go one goal behind and suddenly its a different team altogether.

Great game from Ashley. Had a hand in both goals. I really believe that we got the better deal in the Cole/Gallas swap. Cole is playing great and Gallas is playing crap. So that puts that silly argument to bed once and for all I think.

A well deserved goal from Arjen even if the GK did fumble it and a superbly taken goal from Ballack. At last the guy shows some class. Thank you God for  Petr Cech.

Porto were very good though, as was expected. Their fans at the Bridge were great too. Swapped my shirt for a Porto home shirt with one fan and then went for a drink and a meal with them after the game. Class fans indeed.

Had to laugh at Arsenal going out, especially as it was Alex that fu<ked them. That was the icing on the cake for me.

Now to see who we get next in the draw. If its Milan then Crespo can't play. If its PSV then Alex cant play either. My gut feeling is that we will get Liverpool. I hope so, I really do. Revenge is best served cold as they say.:mexican:

Oh dear mate......:mexican: I wasn't thinking straight.

Also looks like you are right about Alex too. We'll have to sort that one out if the situation arises I guess.

Hahahahaa....@ Wenger. It's true what Jose says about Wenger having a fixation with Chelsea. Every time they fu<k up, it's always Chelsea's fault. He never admits that his team are overhyped and always underperform. He needs to look at himself IMO. He has seriously lost the plot.

The guy comes to England. He inherits a Championship winning side, who go on to win a few more Championships, then he begins to break up the squad, losing all his best players. Then he brings in cheap foreign imports with whom he achieves NOTHING, then he kids the fans that "One day they will be great, be patient, we are in a transitional period".

A transitional period that has so far lasted 3 seasons and still is nowhere near finished? This is a manager who has been at the same club for 10 years, only Ferguson has been managing the same club for a longer period than Wenger, and Wenger still can't achieve a damn thing.

But its never his fault. Its either Chelsea plotting against him, too many games to play, the FA being unkind to his precious players when they decide to lose with dishonour and kick out, or a thousand other non existant reasons, and the amazingly hilarious thing is this, the Arsenal fans believe every word he says the mugs.

Jose called him a voyeur which he got very upset about, but he has proven that he does indeed spend an awful lot of time looking at Chelsea instead of sorting out the mess that he has got Arsenal into. The guy is a plank.:mexican:

that was a close call against Tottenham, our defence was in bits and pieces probably the worse game we have played all season defensively. Tottenham kept coming right down the middle and they got 3 goals that way. a little unfortunate for Essien to score that own goal he has been class this season.

Terry will probably be back for our next game and he seems fine. i think Mourinho should throw Geremi on more often at RB i don't know the problem with Farriera his final delivery is a little below par. Diarra has offcourse been playing well both at the back and in Midfield so he should keep his spot.

So when can Alex be able to play in England? we could use a player like him in the coming seasons.

It was a great game man. I enjoyed it a lot. Spurs knew in advance where our weakness was gonna be and they exploited it. They were very effective and I thought Berbatov plaayed a very masterful game indeed. Jol must have been mad to have taken him off.

I don't mind so much when we conceed and early goal. As I've said before, it seems to be the only thing that wakes the team up at the start of a game. (Why are we so dozy for the first ten - fifteen minutes of every game?......Sort that out Jose FFS.)

So when we equalised I thought....Yep, here we go. Then two complete defensive howlers and we are 3-1 down. Not a situation I can remember for a few years now, so it was all feeling a bit wierd I can tell ya.

But ya know....I always knew we were gonna come back. I cant imagine Chelsea NOT coming back TBH. 2 from Lamps and a lovely volley from Sol to bring both teams at 3 goals all.

Given a few more minutes I think we would have maybe won this, but Spurs really didn't deserve to lose this game.

That was attacking football. Spurs really shouldn't have played Mido, Berbatov was ace.

And I'm so unconvinced with players from the Eredivise coming to England, I'd only take a loan if I were Chelsea.

Good old 1-0 result today against City though.

You mean guys like Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben, Dirk Kuyt, Robin Van Persie, etc. etc. etc......

I would hesitate to generalize as this is really more about the individual player than a particular league. The same could conceivably be said about the French league or any other league. There are players who make it, and players who don't, regardless of the league they come from. (and no, I'm not Dutch (H))

You are right man, you can't generalise about imported players, whatever league they may come from. Some imported players also take longer to settle in to a new league, whereas some players adjust more quickly. It certainly is dependant on the individual.

Regarding the result.....Man City were fighting for survival and because of that, this game was very difficult for us. They gave everything against Chelsea last night. Man City only have a problem scoring goals at the moment. The midfield and the defence are very solid and although I think we did dominate the game, City were very difficult to break down indeed.

The result brings us back to within 6 points of United again. :mexican:

So Jose's talking to the press again right after he said he wouldn't. What a classic guy.

I wonder if they'll start the full team tommorrow because of the FA Cup game monday.

Let me say this, Alex is at least 10 times better than Boulahrouz. No wonder Arnesen wanted to bring him to Chelsea last january already, dont know why Mourinho didnt want that though.

Unfortunately Alex' now out for the rest of the season. But maybe the good thing for us will be that other teams hesitate to buy him, so PSV can enjoy another season with Alex.
