Let me say this, Alex is at least 10 times better than Boulahrouz. No wonder Arnesen wanted to bring him to Chelsea last january already, dont know why Mourinho didnt want that though.

Unfortunately Alex' now out for the rest of the season. But maybe the good thing for us will be that other teams hesitate to buy him, so PSV can enjoy another season with Alex.

Even if Chelsea bought Alex in Jan he wouldnt of played b/c he still needs a work permit i think that coulda been the reason b/c if htey bought him he wouldnt of been able to play and it would be better for him to continue for PSV, i dunno bout his situation tho currently on his permit but i agree hes wayy better than Boulu, but i know he has a hamstring injury and that will definitley not scare off clubs i think clubs can get a discounted price on it b/c of the injure because hes projected to be out 6 weeks then hes got all summer to recover so he'll be 100% ready next yr, ALEX is a great peace of talent a old school hard nose defender and the dudes a beast , Terry and Alex can be a crazzzzyy duo no disprespect to Carvalho tho. Alex will come eventually I've no doubt. During the last transfer window, Roman witheld all funds for transfers, hence the reason we never bought anyone at all. I should think the summer transfer period will see Alex moving to Chelsea.

I don't know about Alex replacing Carvalho though, because Ricci has evolved into an essential member of the defence. He is just awesome this season ( he never did get much time to settle in. Immediate demands were made of him upon his arrival at Chelsea by the club and the fans, demands that he wasn't in a position to provide.)

Now he has settled in to the club and the EPL, he gives to us consistantly, 100%. Did you see him today? He had yet another amazing game. He bought the ball out and through the midfield of United so many times thatI lost count. Speed, strength and control finished off with an inch perfect pass. He plays with confidence now. You can see that in his game.

Alex will compliment the squad, (from what little I have seen of him), and I would imagine that Alex will be a much needed addition to our depleted central defence. He won't take Ricci's place though, because Ricci is class and he has earned his place in the team.

Anyhow.....Good game again today. Sheva played a blinder today. How gratifying to see him performing better and better every game now. He has certainly shut up all the doubters (and haters). Lovely goal too from him

Cech was magnificent. (How many points did we drop because of this blokes long absence this seasonI wonder?).The midfield solid and creative. I like it when we play with wingers, and Arjen and Sweep both had good games.

Sol scored another goal, and Ballack scored a nice powerfully headed goal to make it 3-0 to us. I've noticed that he too is beginning to show signs of increasing confidence in his play. Some of his tackles continue to annoy me a little but even those are becoming less and less. His movement and awareness appear to be much sharper in recent games, which has enabled him to contribute a lot more to the teams overall performance.

For a team in "Transition" this season, we aint doing too bad :mexican:

Sheffield never managed much of a challenge in that first 20 minuts when they had the goals scored against them. That game's model for how not to play against Chelsea.

Nice to see Kalou, Ballack, and Shev scoring.

how the hell are you a team in "Transition"?

Your two major signings this summer are already in their 30's... Apart from that the team is pretty much the same to last year.

Chelsea fans just can't get used to the fact that they are not the best in the country anymore, so they use Arsenal's excuse of being in :drevil: transition :drevil:

haha...it was Stotty and Help. I thought a gooner might have bit that one, but i was wrong, it was the mancs.:funny:

Actually to be in transition, a team would be in the position of having to assimilate new players into the system amd the team, and be in the active process of giving games to those players who had been fringe players the season before. Add to that the adjustments that must be made for players that departed the the team the season before too.

So a transitional period is NOT only about how many players a club may buy before a new season but also how many first team players might have left the club too.

A transition has nothing to do with the ages of the players Stotty. The important fact is that those players were not on the scene last season. You seem to be confused as to what "transition" means mate.

If you look at almost EVERY club at the start of a season, there is a case for ALL of those clubs being able to claim that the season will be one of transition, due to the purchase of new players, the introduction of fringe players or the departure during the summer of already established players.

Every club goes through this most seasons, but not many use it as an excuse for failure. In fact I can only think of one team that does use it as an excuse.

I think age is a big part of transition. If your players are going to be retiring/moving on in the next few seasons its not really a season of transition, or else you'll just constantly be "in transition".

Exactly. If that's an excuse to be in transition, then United has been in transition during the last 3 seasons, so we actually did really well, finishing 3rd and 2nd, while being in transition. You can't just use transition for almost any small change that needs to be adjusted. You use it, like stotty said only when you have half your team retiring or half of your team is youth players that are still trying to gain lots of experience, then you are in transition. But having a few injuries and trying to get 2 past their peak world class players to settle in is NOT a transition period. Everybody has a few injuries and new players every season.

Thats just the point mate. Teams ARE constantly in transition. Players come in and players go out. Thats it. Thats all that is needed for a club to be in transition.

It has nothing to do with a clubs youth policy at all. Thats a completely diferent matter altogether. Age does not come into it mate. It doesn't matter if you are 30 or 20. If a club loses or/and gains players, WHATEVER their AGES, time is needed to adjust. This is called transition.

By the way, my original comment about transition was actually me, having a dig at the Arse, and also pointing out sarcastically, that just because a club might be going through a transition, that in itself is not a good enough reason for a team to be failing. Of course there will always be hiccups along the way, but to blame another blank season on it is just a sign that a coach/ manager has fu<ked up big time by the way that he might have sacked and bought players that have led to a situation like this.

We're changing but not in a complete transition in the sense that we're starting with a new generation of players. I think that Mourinho wants to bring in more young guys like Obi Mikel and Kalou as well as getting ready to part with guys like Makelele through retirement or Geremi. I think that it's the injuries which have caused the changes in position to be the reason for people saying that Chelsea is in transition.

If anything, Man U is the team in transition with the older guys going out and younger guys coming in. And to be fair, Arsenal are in transition but it's their own stupidity that's led to them losing so many experienced players and being unable to bring new ones in while trying to find the next big youth player.

Exactly my original point Nick. I wish I would have said that now instead of simply alluding to it. It might have saved us all some time, although I did use this smiley at the end of my comment:mexican: So ppl would appreciate that perhaps I was simply having a laugh at the Arse.:)
