i totally agree mate; he has a real fighting spirit and he is very phisical; but still he is very erratic; still the RM fanboys think he is going to be their mesiah for their defense ; tought they already have cannavaro and ramos; if he goes so be it; you guys have terry and carvalho; and have the money to spend to get what ever defender you want

And thats the truth Alex. Sure I would have liked him to stay a Chelsea boy because Ilike to see players stay at the club, as opposed to buying half a team every season. Of course I'm happy that we CAN do that, but I would prefer players to remain long term and become part of the club.

Gallas does not love Chelsea obviously so there is no reason to keep him. He could have handled himself much better lately and with more dignity in my opinion. Instead he just doesn't show up to play (in the USA), slags off the club at every opportunity and whinges through his "friends" to the media. If he loved the club, he would have accepted the olive branch handed to him,( with his massive pay increase), and sworn his undivided love and loyalty. If he is expecting Jose or Kenyon to get on their knees to him, he will be sorely dissapointed. Jose will let him rot in the reserves for a season if he has his way.

I have to admit I was mad at Chelsea originally for NOT giving Gallas a better deal earlier, but a better deal was offered LONG before things got sour but Gallas decided to sulk instead of accepting it. He got what he wanted and then said, "Fu<k you". So fu<k you too Billy.

He was nothing when he came to Chelsea. He built up his bank balance and his reputation and his ego. Lets see how he fairs away from Stamford Bridge.

No offence to Arsenal, but what will he gain by leaving Chelsea for Arsenal? He has more chance of winning the Champions League at Chelasea than he does at Arsenal (probably) If he wanted a new challange than surely it would be better to go to Italy or Spain and experiance a new league, culture etc. And i dont think its about money 'cause he has apparently agreed to a pay cut to join Arsenal. Very strange. (:/)

Also did you guys hear that you and Arsenal are interested in Eric Abidal.

Its perfectly acceptable to offend Arsenal in this thread mate,no apology needed.... :funny:

TBH, Gallas had always said he wanted to go to Italy. He wants out of the EPL altogether. Arsenal have shown an interest in having him from us and he might, just might be the makeweight for the Ashley Cole deal, although I doubt it. He is not happy that he is being mentioned in this deal as he wanted to move from England altogether.

I hear that Arsenal are now asking for £10 million + Gallas. Itsa fact that Arsenal have said that they will not match Gallas' wages at Chelsea, but I have not heard anywhere that he would be happy with that circumstance. Kenyon has said that Cole will be a Chelsea player and Gallas will also be a Chelsea player so make of that what you will.

Man everyone was talking a lot about this guy when we were linked to him but at the WC he was very very average. Nothing special in him.

Better the devil you know in this case I think. Why risk taking a chance on Abidal when we know that Cole is excellent. Jose has said that he would use Cole as a winger as well as a left back so he could cover 2 positions if needed. That makes perfect sense to me and that way, Bridge will not feel that his place is under threat.

Like it or not, one way or the other Cole is coming to Chelsea. From the moment he pulls on that blue shirt, he is a Chelsea boy and should be given the support and encouragement that entails. Whatever your opinions are of the guy, misguided or not, he will bleed for the team when needed. His commitment is not in question. He cannot fail to be an asset to our team. There's nothing we can do about it anyway, Kenyon and Jose have made their minds up so thats that. I think the move will be positive and I have yet to hear a good argument as to why Cole should not come to Chelsea.

If we were that fussy about a players personality, we would have got rid of Dennis Wise in his first season because he is a nasty little bastard, on and OFF the pitch. This is not about personality, this is about what a player can give to us on the pitch and with Cole, his skills and commitment are not in question.

How would Bridge feel safe if we buy Cole and use him in midfield, where we have Robben, Cole, possibly SWP, Mikel and even Kalou who can play there?

Chelsea is looking horrible. I expected their play would pick up after that performance last week but in the first half I'd say they played even worse than last weel. Maybe play will pick up in the second half.

Chelsea 2 - Rovers 0 final score.

I hate that diamond formation. Everything tight in the middle and not enough width. Jose obviously thought it was needed though but it makes for an ugly game fought in the midfield.
Rovers were desperate for the points though and they were their usual dogged selves which doesn't give the opposing team much space and time to play any other way. The important thing was the 3 points anyway. With the new players yet to really settle in and this early in the season its important to be able to win ugly and thats what we did.

Cechs first game of the season, Ballack returning and a debut by Khalid probably goes some way to understanding why we looked uncertain at times and more games will only sharpen that up. Good Drogba goal, he worked hard for that. Some nice moves all in all though and the 3 points will help squad confidence. (Y)

Well that is what you get by buying a lot of first team players who doesn't know how the bench looks like

Well done Chelsea, poor performance, but got the job done.

Like I said in the Man Utd thread, that is a sign of true champions. (Y)
