I hope we get one of the german teams , so that the game in germany could be a bit easier for us(because of the fan advantage), i mean its better than selecting a italian & spanish team together.
i m very excited i hope we get at least one very good team , its been a while since i saw Gala play against a world class team..

still... being 3rd in Italy is still better than being 1st in Portugal.
depends on the point of view I guess, but not gonna argue with that.
I'm pretty sure though that it's better to win a UEFA Cup and a Champions League in the, lets say, last 5 years, than do sh'tall in european competitions over the last 5 years.

and now we should cut the "my dick is bigger than yours" crap, who the f'ck cares really.

They have a title to gloat about when they finish 1st. 3rd is hardly something to gloat about, especially when you throw off millions and millions away at players and the biggest thing you can win is Coppa Italia.

ZKA.....Some good points made, though I'll ignore the silly comment about Chelsea not being important, but remember this dude, Chelsea have been English Champions for 2 seasons running now. This is the CHAMPIONS league. Originally concieved for champions of their respective domestic leagues. That makes Chelsea, in this competition at least, important. At least it should do.

You misunderstood me. I meant that Chelsea aren't important enough to have an entire qualifying system changed just because they are in the picture now.
Having said that, no club is that important.
I do agree that, in a fair system, Chelsea would be in Pot 1, because they are champions of their league. But then again, there are plenty of other clubs who are also champions and *have to play the qualifying rounds*.
An example of this is Dinamo Zagreb, the champion of my country. They have to play Round 2, and then, if they qualify, Round 3. And they're champions.
It's only because the Croatian league is not rated as highly as the EPL, which again brings us to the points system which put Arsenal and Pool above you.
So the damaged club is not only Chelsea, and this can't be changed just like that. I don't think it will ever be changed, not just because of money, but also because it would really, really lower the quality of the tournament.

If UEFA were to change the system, that would be chaos. Then Dinamo would wonder why they are not in the CL when they're champions, and some other superstrong club from a far better league is in it even though they are not champions. Those strong clubs would suffer as they would be eliminated from the competition despite being better sides than those involved.

I just want to see the best teams play this competition, and in order to do that, the points system is inevitable. At least it seems to be, because 4th ranked in any of the Europe's top 5 leagues is way stronger than the champion of the Cro league. But how are you gonna explain their participation with something other than points? I don't think you can.

I do feel for you, you're one of the best and will be pitted against the best, and I think a way should be found to put truly the greatest in the same pot to preserve the quality of the competition, but I don't see that way right now.

As a Sporting fan, I am worried with every team, except FC Copenhagen, and even this one after beating Ajax...ouch, dunno really. And Sporting really has some ****t* luck with the CL groups, let's see what's coming.

Oh, and a good group as well for Benfica and Porto. :corn:

I really don't care who Milan would have to play against, all clubs are dangerous and worthy in this stage, but I pray they would get Anderlecht as that would be a very short trip for me to go to the match (about 15 mins by car LOL)
