good to see dortmund getting on their feet.
no matter how the games were, only the result counts :ewan:

Exactly. I will take a 1-0 win any day of the week. Especially with the way this rotten year has gone.

BTW- Dortmund played a 4-3-3 with Koller and Rosicky not available.

We always play with a 4-3-3.

Dortmund's tactics: bore the opposition team to hell, then score and win by one goal

Don't negate, congratulate.

We're building confidence, winning with a predominantly young squad, and steadily climbing up the table, and this saddens you -- I know! Deal with it.

EBY!!! EBY!!! EBY!!! EBY!!!! :rockman: :lui: (C) Finally a smart signing! :)

Smolarek Transfer Completed!!!

Borussia Dortmund have completed the permanent signing of Eby Smolarek from Feyenoord.

The 24-year-old Pole moved to Dortmund on loan in December and has won many admirers in the Bundesliga in the last four months.

Despite being mired in financial trouble, Borussia made it clear they wanted to keep the Pole and a deal was struck with Feyenoord over the weekend.

Smolarek has penned a four-year contract and is delighted to be staying in Germany.

"I am delighted with this transfer," he told Feyenoord's website. "I am very happy here in Dortmund.

"I never expected I would get used to life in another country so quickly. The players have accepted me in their social life.

"At Feyenoord, there was no future for me. The coach chosen someone else - I accepted that.

"Of course it's difficult, because I grew up at Varkenoord (the accommodation of the Feyenoord youth academy). But I didn't want to stop my own development. This is the best solution."

Yeah, this is terrific news. I'm definitely excited. His price tag was cheap, too. Around $600,000 Euros or something.

Now would be a good time to offload Mr. I-don't-know-to-finish-a-shot -- Ewerthon.

Thanks for the nice words... Hopefully we can get a spot in Europe. It sucks without Dortmund being one of the better teams in Germany. :)

That's some cheap buyout clause there. Heh, I said a couple of months ago in this thread that I wanted Rauball to sign Buckley. Funny how things work out sometimes. All's we need is his signature ... :)

Buckley to sign for Dortmund
Posted Mon, 25 Apr 2005

Borussia Dortmund have seemingly won the race to sign Bafana Bafana star Delron Buckley from Arminia Bielefeld, with Borussia sporting director Michael Zorc claiming the player's signature was the only thing missing.

Dortmund have taken advantage of a &eoru;425 000 get-out clause in Buckley's contract, and the South African star will pen a two-year deal at the Westfalen Stadium.

"Buckley is a fast wide-man and suits our 4-3-3 system perfectly," said Zorc. "He has the ability to deliver pinpoint passes to the centre forward."

The creative talents of the 27-year-old Buckley are not the only feature of his game, with 15 goals for unfashionable Bielefeld this season underlining his prowess in front of goal.

English Premiership side Blackburn Rovers and Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid also registered their interest in Buckley, but the player prefers to remain in the German top-flight.

EDIT: Also, if we do sign Gerber, Koller or Ewerthon is going to have to go. We're going to be over-stocked with fowards. My heart says keep Koller and sell that fucktard Ewerthon, but my intuition says the opposite (sell Koller, keep Ewerthon). And what about the defence? We need an extra right-back/center-back, IMO.

This is how our back four should look like next season:

-- Degen -- Metze -- Brzenska -- Dede --

Degen, Metze and Dede should be very good. Will Worns be too old? Will Brzenska develope enough to start? Some questions that will have to be answered.

I'm guessing the club will try their best to sell Everthon, he sucks!

Buckley!! Please sign!!

YESS!!

Buckley said that he will sign with BVB on Wednesday. He said he has talked to BvM and feels the club is headed in the right direction. He is also looking forward to playing alongside Koller.

I wish Rosicky would play that way -EVERY- game, he was superb. That's all he's missing, consistency. But, great team effort by the Borussen, especially in the 2nd half. Kringe was particularly good, too -- this kid goes unnoticed way too often. We should have won by a higher margin, not to mention the two penalties that should have been awarded (blatant hand-ball and a trip on Dede which led to a ridiculous yellow card).

SC Freiburg is next week. This should be an easy three points in the bag.

Worns is showing signs of deterioration, and yeah, he's not getting any younger. Brzenska has his good days and his bad days (i.e. that horrid game against Bayern Munich). He's young, though. He can only get better with experience and time. I'm not too familiar with Degen, I saw him play once against Schalke in the UEFA Cup and that was it. He's also a regular for the Swiss U-19s.

And Ewerthon doesn't suck, he just can't finish. If he could finish half of his shots he would be ranked in the top five on the scoring charts, I bet.
