I wonder who Sven will call up :rolleyes:. It's a bloody disgrace Beattie hasn't had more chances. FFS England have played Heskey for 2 and a bit years and what has he ever done? Maybe Sven thinks Beattie is suffering from Andy Cole Syndrome.

James Beattie is way better than Rooney. Rooney (or shrek)
only had a good debut and now everyone thinks he's good. Mind you, I wouldn't count out Alan Smith-he plays for a crap team, yet still manages to do reasonably.

So: Rooney+Heskey=out
Smith+Beattie=in

alan smith is a talent. no offense to him or leeds fans. i think he has all the talent and passion and commitment in the world...but sometimes, you don't know what to expect from him. he's toned down this year. but his history has shown that he's a risk and liability to his team. maybe that's why sven won't pick him. i'd go with beattie and heskey to start against denmark.

Fair enough, but I still wouldn't pick Rooney-I think Francis Jeffers should be at least considered (he needs time to prove himself). BTW is Lampard in the team?

it´s no surprise england doesn´t do too good.. they qualified, but in euro2004 you´ll do nothing with crap players like Heskey and Vassell..

we'll know later on if beattie's included. looks like rooney will be left out because of a throat infection, but alan smith is also in the frame.

I believe that's a worse strike-rate than Emile Heskey and Diego Forlan and yet both get much more stick for being 'crap' than 'wonderboy' Rooney.......he still hasn't reached double digits - he could concievably play in 50 EPL games and not even get 10 goals.

And yet people still have the gall to say Michael Owen is overrated.....

Forlan has scored more than 10 goals for United with more than 1 assist... and i think the reason everton are struggling is because of him... too much publicity unlike giggs... causing a distraction in the locker room.... i'll bet...
