How are you gonna do it with the rugby season on at the same time as the slot for the world cup?

England will make a bid also.

Sounds like we've already given up on the 2014 bid. It would've been quite a feat if we managed to snatch it off the Sth Americans, considering we couldn't even get half a WC place off them.

It depends on whether FIFA sticks by their WC rotation system for that long, but 2018 should come down to Asia vs CONCACAF vs England and maybe 1 or 2 other European countries.

Like the article said China would most likely be our biggest rival in the Asia region but they would've already hosted the 2008 Olympics by then, so it might depend on how that goes. The only others in Asia I can see bidding for it would be several west Asian nations like Saudi Arabia, they're pretty keen to host one and they certainly won't have any problems financing it. But with the potential security issues and seeing how so many players were b*tching about the heat in Germany they can probably forget it.

I think Australia has a pretty decent chance, and if there's still an Oceania federation by then, then Australia could be seen as representing both the South Pacific and Asia.

Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)
How are Australia's stadiums? Holland/Belgium wouldn't be bad either...

USA or Canada plz.

CONCACAF's next World Cup is 2022. (Or 2010 in USA if South Africa fails).

Australia will have to build/upgrade alot of stadiums though. I can't see FIFA playing on cricket grounds not named the MCG.

Joint bids are still allowed, but FIFA doesn't like them.

I reckon England should have it, specialy with the new Wembley, Arsenals new ground and Possibly a new Anfield. Plus we haven't had it for 52 years by then. If it's Concacaf not mexico, 3rd time would be too much and the players absolutely hate playing there.

Jesus, 2018. Im gonna be 34 by that time, probably with a receeding hairline :|

I reckon England will have a strong case, what with, as has been said, the New Anfield, new Wembely, an expanded/refurbished Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, and I believe White Hart Lane is up for some kind of expansion planning in the near future. Add that to the good capacities at places like Villa Park, Eastlands, Reebok, etc, and it seems to make sense

Call me a mom, but i think that every country who is fit should get a turn for a major competition and then wait until the others have gone through the pile before getting it again. So for me, Holland/Belgium after 2000 wouldnt be right
