2 decent teams? more like Japan, thats it. When Korea accomplishes something without embarassingly obvious bad refereeing, than ill pay attention. Id wager a lot of money Korea goes 0-3 at WC 06.

Asia is really behind in the football world.....but still it had its moments....in the world cup there were results like Saudi Arabia 1-0 Belgium.. Iran 2-1 USA... plus the japan and Korea heroics (thanx to money and corruption)... but the Asian federation is so corrupt that it makes me laugh sometimes......plus the fact that good players aren't allowed to go abroad and improve because of the retarded mentality of the officials.....

the A.R.T (arab radio and television) has the whole tournament in the USA where i live........

Saudi Arabia lost to Lichtenstein in 2003 tho, there is really no excuse for that.

China has a good future, but for now it's just Korea and Japan...and to an extent Iran.

I have no high hopes for my Indonesian NT in the Asia Cup. The squad probably the weakest squad in the last 20 years. Three consecutive defeat against a low ranked local clubs before the tournament shows more than enough of how pathetic the squad is. Seriously, if I have the power to plead to the AFC, I would ask for the banning of my NT from the tournament.

Wow, this is turning out to be a day of upsets in Asia. Final scores:

Indonesia 2 - 1 Qatar. Very impressive, 96th ranked Indonesia just beat a team managed by Phillipe Troussier, although the Qataris would probably say they had a few senior players missing.... like Ailton, Leandro and Dede

Saudi Arabia 2 - 2 Turkmenistan. Saudi Arabia came from behind to take the lead in the 59th minute, then proceeded to slow down the game and fritter away the time only to concede an equaliser in the 92nd minute

Uzbekistan 1 - 0 Iraq. Iraq is looking to join the first few teams to get knocked out of the comp, despite dominating Uzbekistan. Nothing went right for the Iraqis today as the Uzbeks scored an early goal from a freekick then sat back and watched Iraq squander chance after chance, both teams had a player sent off at the end of the game but for the Iraqis it was their most potent striker in Emad Mohamed.

I'm surprised with Indonesia. Defeating Qatar is a pretty big accomplishment, but I hope China will still be able to handle them.

Dude, you must be joking. Yan Song is not 34, no way man.

He wasn't all that impressive before, maybe he just had a good game. I think Zheng Zhi is becoming more of a role player now, a better player too.

The win against Qatar was completely a lucky miracle for us. In the first 20 monutes Qatar could`ve scored five goals, cos` our defense were suck on settin` on off-side traps. I counted there`s about 5 or 6 times the Qatar manage to outrun the last line of defense and faced the GK one on one. If we keep playin` loke this against China, we will got owned big time.
