Oh well... the hosts always do bad in the opening game of a big competition. Hopefully China will do better against Indonesia and Qatar, I think they're both weaker than Bahrain.

PS: does anyone have the goals for the game? I can't watch it in Canada and I dunno where to find the highlites. :p

india are in dire state at the moment losing to japan 7-0 and bahrain 5-1 at home in wc2006 qualifiers, they had an unfair pre qualifying tie in the pre 2004 afc cup qualifying and lost to north korea. however east bengal are soon coming to leicester so hopefully i can see them then.

Vietnam hasn't been good at football ever since the vietcong came to town....we used to own Australia back in the 1960s-70s...and got 4th place in Asian cup like twice...and actually made the 2nd round of qualifying for World Cup

this sucks

i watched the game today...the opening ceremony was nice and the football wasn't really that bad.....

what was stupid....the chinese tv were only replaying their goals and their chances and completely ignoring the oppostion's goals and chances... dont these countries have any respect for anybody else......alright nationalism is good but that was offensive and disrespectful...

also im always surprised that asia have more than 3 seats in the world cup... there are only 2 DECENT teams in the continent.... most teams aren't even proffessional..they play as a hobby !!

by the way china have a cristiano Ronaldo down the left side...he's number 22 and he is CLASS.....the only good player they have.....

yea he'll be playing. the only players korea are going to really miss are yoo and song. but they'll pretty much be at full strenght.

japan on the other hand...they're missing a load of starters. nakata, kubo, and inamoto are out due to injuries, and ono and takahara will be playing in athens.

lol i asked that long time ago, but then i realized they lost before these group stages, they lost like all there games but won 1, and they didnt get through, they finished last

I think you're refering to Yan Song. It sux that China relies on a 34 year old striker. From what I read, since I can't watch the games, is that China doesn't have any creativity and play a workman like style. I just hope they finish this tournament decently since they are the hosts after all.

BTW, How did you watch this game?
