Perrota says that he has no ambitions to play abroad.

Juan wants Roma so if chivu leaves roma he could be a good substitute for chivu. Anyway he is not as good as chivu but he can play in the first eleven.

Perrotta doesn't want to go abroad because he has here anything he needs.:)

Juan would be perfect, and he doesn't do so many stupid errors.:jambo:

Good bye, Cristi! Thank you for doing your best at Roma! Great player, great national team captain.

Some new information about the 2007/2008 kits? We will stay with Diadora?

There's nothing official yet, but I still wait for any kinds of information.

But unfortunately this is our's the most probable kit for upcoming season ( there's still a Diadora one):

Corini eyes Roma switch

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eugenio Corini has admitted that he would be glad to join Roma once his contract with Palermo expires.

The former Rosanero captain bid farewell to the Sicilian outfit last week, after the Isolani refused to renew his deal, which ends this month.

Corini is now looking for a new club in Serie A, as he wishes to end his career in the top flight, and the Giallorossi are reportedly keen on signing the 36-year-old.

“Roma would be an amazing experience and I am pleased to hear that they are interested in me,” said the former Chievo star.

“I am evaluating different options, this is a difficult moment in my career. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, we will see,” added Corini, who could represent an alternative to David Pizarro.

The midfielder has also been in contact with Siena and should be in Tuscany today to discuss details with the Bianconeri, as he is reportedly interested in a £570,000 one-year deal or a £857,000 two-year contract.

Corini, also target for Napoli and Torino, gave his farewell to Palermo in a press conference on Friday.

In his tearful statement he admitted that he was hoping to become a part of the club, playing for another season and then taking on a directorial role, but that the Rosanero didn’t want him.

Hammers announce Roma clash

11/06/2007 12:29
West Ham United can confirm that Italian giants AS Roma will be our final visitors to Upton Park before the 2007-08 Premier League season starts in August.

The Hammers will face last season's Champions League quarter-finalists at 3pm on Saturday, August 4th in the last pre-season friendly of the summer.

Luciano Spalletti's side finished runners-up in Serie A last season behind Inter Milan and also faced the title-winners in the 2007 Coppa Italia final. Roma won the Cup 7-4 on aggregate to take the trophy for the seventh time in their history.
Roma are captained by Italy international forward and World Cup winner Francesco Totti, who has remained at the Club throughout his career. He was just 16 when he made his first appearance for the Club against Brescia in March 1993.

Smart choice. I'm looking forward to this. (Y)

Roma technical head Bruno Conti insists the club continue to fight to keep Christian Chivu.

Reports continue to alternate between a move away from the capital and a contract extension, as the Chivu saga runs, but Roma are giving it everything.

The problem with an extension is their 2.5 million cap on salaries, with Chivu demanding close to 4 million.

"Roma do not want to lose Chivu," said Conti. "Coach Luciano Spalletti will be waiting for him in July for pre-season training.

"If someone else wants him they must speak with the club, because he still has one year on his contract. We haven’t been contacted by anyone.

"We are working to extend his contract, like we have been doing with other players, we don’t want to lose anyone."

Roma do not want to go over 2.5 million, while Inter are said to be ready with a 4 million deal. Barcelona have not given up either.

I think that if Roma can extend the Chivu's contract he will stay in roma at least 2-3 seasons. So because he turns down the offer from inter there is only one more team interested in him, thats barcelona.

There's nothing to be worry about. If Chivu will leave, we're going to have enough money to buy even better defender.

I think that chivu is the right man in the defence of roma because he and mexes are playing toghether for many years and they know theirs job, i dont know how to say that they are too good when they are toghether and if chivu leave roma, the player who will substitute him wont be as good as chivu in any case because its very hard to adapt in the defence of roma like chivu and mexes. Thats the reason why it wont be the same if chivu leaves roma.
Anyway i hope that chivu will stay in rome and will play with il capitano.

I do hope that he will stay, but if he will leave us I won't cry. With that money which we are going to have we can buy enough good players to fill this space.

but the reason is that nobody can replace him in the defence because he and mexes are playing for many years and know theirs job. the new defender, probably juan, maybe wont adapt in the style of playing of roma as good as chivu.

You're so delighted Chivu, that you cannot accept this, that someone better can come to Roma and replace him perfectly. I know that he and Mexes work with themselves well, but no-one said we cannot buy someone better in meanwhile.

Chivu will leave us probably, so, we have to begin re-building of the team for upcoming season without any fondnesses.

it is ok, i agree with you, but this season chivu was in ''life-form'' so i think that roma doesnt need to sell him.
Roma need to offer him bigger salary because if chivu leaves, Roma will buy Juan probably. But what if Juan play like shevchenko in chelsea this season? I'm telling you Anthony all time this that the defender who will come in rome maybe wont play as good as at his previous team!
Do you understand me what i want to tell you?
PS: maybe i dont speak english good but i hope you will understand all my posts

I understand everything what you're saying, mate, but I can't get why you're protecting Chivu? If he would be loyal, he would agree salary which Roma is offering him. Mexes agreed on that, and he's as good as Chivu or even better.:jambo:

Roma Make First Signings In Pit And Barusso
AS Roma have made their first concrete moves of the summer, though they are probably not the ones the Giallorossi faithful were hoping for.

The latter involves 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Ahmed Barusso, who is expected to complete his move from Rimini to the Eternal City side.

Barusso underwent a two-day long medical as the Roma medical staff feared he hadn’t completely recovered from a tibia fracture he suffered last October.

Roma will pay 3 million Euros to the Serie B outfit for the player's registration.

This is the club's second signing, after unknown Romanian defender Andreas Pit announced he had signed for Roma on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old played with Swiss outfit Bellinzona last year.

It is still unclear whether Pit will be actually integrated within coach Luciano Spalletti’s squad, or if he will be used as an exchange piece in future transfer deals.

Rome, Pit in loan to Triestina or Mantova
14.06.2007 16.11

In the near days the Rome will make official the engagement of Adrian Pit (23), Rumenian midfielder that the giallorossi have drawn at the Bellinzona. The player will be turned in loan mass-produced B: it would be in fact contacts already guided with Triestina and Mantova.
