Well it's official now Squidward is a member of Arsenal FC.

The resemblance is uncanny

UCL draw looks good, we get to give Dudu the send-off a great guy like him deserves and meet Os Arsenalistas (plus their stadium is awesome) - downside is that we have away fixtures after 5 of the group stage games.

Nice win today.

We played some very promising football at times but we made the match, particularly the last 15 minutes, a lot harder than it needed to be. Gotta feel for Van Persie, out yet again, but hopefully not too long. Chamakh looks like a really good signing and he might really come in handy if Van Persie continues to get injured. Meanwhile Theo has just been lighting it up. If we can add to that a 100% Fabregas and Arshavin we'll really be in business. We're not firing on all cylinders yet but some very promising signs are there.

Oh mother****er we didn't sign a goalkeeper! I'm going to get behind this team, even Almunia, but I can't help but think that he's going to cost us valuable points, and that this team is set for 3rd again. Anyway now that our squad is set I'm thinking our best line up (if everyone were fit and in form) will look like:
-----------Almunia---------------
Sagna Squilacci Vermaelen Clichy
-------------Song----------------
-----Fabregas-----Diaby---------
Walcott----------------Arshavin
----------Van Persie------------

I give the edge to Squilacci in the back because I think we could use the height and experience, but I'm certainly open to competition for that spot.
I pick Diaby because he gives our midfield a certain amount of steel and strength that we've lacked, especially against the big teams, in the past.
And up front an in form Walcott really adds to our attack, while I'm happy we got Chamakh because I don't think he's a huge step down from Van Persie.

Overall I think that's a very promising first team, I just hope it's good enough to win us the league.

Agree with that.

I am disappointed that we have not signed a keeper but I can't say I'm gutted that we have not signed Schwarzer. To be honest the guy was only going to be a stop gap option. While an improvement over what we have, he's not that much better than Almunia as Arsenal fans will make him seem. Either way we should have made a keeper signing. Here's hoping for a cut price Lloris next summer. Other thing that worries me is lack of backup for Song.

I can't honestly say we messed up entirely this summer since replacing Silvestre, Gallas and Senderos (Campbell) was more of a priority. We are most likely gonna do better than 17 of the other teams in the league but I'm not convinced we can challenge Chelsea and Man Utd this season.

Indeed, after Barcelona DNA boy is sold for € 60 Mill. next summer he would have been a decent option. Only problem is he'll be too injured to be of any use to us.

Who's the Cesc replacement? I assume most of that cash will get pocketed, but who's going to step in? Ozil seems like the most natural replacement, but now he's at Real. Kroos could do it I guess; IMO Bayern could be tempted to sell (and Kroos tempted to leave) for a reasonable amount of money, but Toni is a wee bit lazy on the pitch.

It appears Wenger is already fishing for another La Masia fresh talented midfielder, which would be hilarious. But I guess when Cesc goes he's either going to give it to Wilshere/Ramsey, or another young up-and-comer.

I guess it will be Ramsey, he's more experienced than Wilshere. Although that could all change depending on how quick recovers. I wanted Özil but not as Cesc's replacement. Wouldn't really make sense to splash mega cash on a replacement when we have Aaron and Carlos, as well as Conor Henderson and Chuks Aneke (who are both highly rated). Hopefully a decent portion of the Cesc money will go into backup for Song.

I feel stupid for wanting Cesc to have been sold this summer, the guy just passes the ball like it's a spliff. Almunia has improved by miles this season, thank goodness, the defence is still wonky (at times). Song scores the 1000th Arsenal goal under Wenger and Carlitos makes it 4-1. I think Gibbs is probably going to relegate Clichy to deputy LB this later this season, also hope that Diaby isn't too hurt. Next game UCL v. Braga at TNHOF, let's get another win.

That little Spanish f*ck sure makes a difference (H)

He sure does. No way we can let him go...:(

Another nice win yesterday. It's nice to see us getting four goals because if you think about the last time we won the title we really relied on our firepower and often scored three or more goals. Yes our defense was very good, but our lethal offensive play is what has always set Arsenal apart in the years we've won under Wenger, so let's hope we score a ****load of goals this season.

And btw Rosicky looks like a much smarter player this year and for periods of certain games he's been absolutely top class. He'll be exciting if he can stay fit.
