Don't get too excited just yet, he's going on a three week vacation to recover from international duty and the Mexican league. The amount of playing time he gets will probably largely depend on how many goals Bolton are scoring when he gets back. If Davies, Diouf and Pedersen are producing I'd expect a lot of sub appearances at first. But I am looking forward to his debut, I think he's going to work his ass off to prove himself.

In other (sadder) news, the Juanfran deal is off, and the squad list continues to look sparse, only 20 names. I suspect Sam has something up his sleeve though, I don't think he'd let the Juanfran deal die without a backup plan.

Yeah, the 3 week break has to do with him having played both the Confederations Cup and Gold Cup so who knows what his situation will be when he gets back. Can't wait to see him play though.

Rough game against Villa. This game to me really raised the "Jaidi question" once again: the defense was poor at the start of the game and N'Gotty was sorely missed, but Jaidi did set up the Davies goal, so what do we do? If there are no more fullback signings to replace Hunt, who was largely at fault for the Phillips goal, I think we should try Jaidi at right back. His aerial threat fits perfectly with our offense so it's worth having him in the side, and really, he can't be worse than Hunt at this point.

Also, Nolan was robbed :kader:

Apparently he had agreed to personal terms, a one-year loan had been arranged with Fiorentina, and all that was left was for him to complete a medical. It was expected that he would wrap up the deal by Friday but I guess we'll have to wait until Monday for it to be finalized. I think he will be a good signing, Big Sam is known for turning around the fortunes of fallen stars. The worry is though that he will become a standout and the lon deal will look foolish. Not to mention the marketing possibilities in the wake of the Asia trip.

Boltons been one of my favorite teams since I started watching the EPL 4 seasons ago. I hope Borgetti works out, he's a fun player to watch. I like Big Sam's style. He knows how to get a lot out of his players.

Yep Nolan was robbed... :jambo:

Bolton won 2-0 today and Borgetti made his deubt, he didn't do much since he was only on for about 5-6 minutes but he had a good chance near the top of the area towards the end. He was obviously a little nervous as he didn't control the ball very well and slipped a bit, can't wait to see him start soon, maybe against West Ham.

I love the taste of freshly beaten Magpie in the morning...:D

It still rankles that players like Yossi whats-his-face and Laurent Robert passed on joining up with Europe-bound Bolton to join the big teams like Pompey and West Ham... we're supposed to get Igor Tudor on loan from Juve, but he wants to go to the Yellow Submarines instead... and with Champions League football beckoning, I wouldn't blame him there... but Portsmouth and West Ham? Dang...

I hope we make Yossi whats-his-face regret his decision this Saturday, and that we repeat the result we got against them the last time we played!

Well... here's some good news for Bolton fans...

"STELIOS has ended speculation regarding his future with Bolton Wanderers Football Club by signing a brand new three-year deal."

Added to that,
"Bolton Wanderers have agreed a one-year loan deal for Igor Tudor with Juventus.

The Croatia international is now holding talks with The Trotters over making the switch to The Premiership."

If this works out, we will be in pretty good nick for this season!

Can someone plz tell me about Vaz Té... i'm not very updated....

I'm a Portugal NT fan, and i saw him play for the U-20... i think he's grrrreat potential... is he gonna break into the first team this season?! What do you think?

Borgetti showed more desire to score in 7 minutes than Davies did in 86. Kevin better watch his *** if he's going to play like he did against Newcastle. Their defense - hell, their whole team! - was in pieces, a striker ought to be having a hat trick on a day like that. I say start Davies against West Ham but if it isn't already 2-0 at the half then put in Borgetti.

As for Vaz Te, general consensus is a lot of potential. It'll be tough to break in ahead of Diouf, Davies, Borgetti, and Pedersen, but he'll get some chances in the Carling and FA Cups. When he came on against Everton he came closer to challenging Martyn with virtually his first touch than Davies did all game, so I think Sam will use him to give an attacking boost off the bench for the most part.

Nakata and Borguetti in the same team?

How could i not become an instant fan of this team!

They're in my top-ten favorite players.

Though I don't know much about Bolton, I will definitely follow them now.
Can't wait for the match against West Ham!

He probably should... but the competition for places upfront is now thankfully tight... but he will get games this season. On a brighter note, we've hammered the Hammers!

We've rubbed Yossi Whats-his-face's nose in it for his decision to join the Hammers instead of us... now let's see what we do about bringing Dacourt in...

Oh yeah, he's really shattered that he's not playing in a team that plays unattractive route 1 football. Gee whiz, you really showed him yesterday, in fact he was terrible!

Fair play, Campo came on and changed the game - our lack of a proper striker really hurt us. But to say Benayoun is sorry for not joining you lot, let's face it, that's just sour grapes, because he's shaping up to be this year's Tim Cahill.
