That Nice Guy
Anchorman

Oh man, still one of my all time favourite comedies. Judd Apatow, Will Ferrell and Steve Carell at their very very best.

"Years later, a doctor will tell me that I have an I.Q. of 48, and am what some people call - mentally retarded."

That fight between the anchormen of different channels was just classic! (H)

:| wow, thats one of the lamest movies I've ever seen...

anyways, due to holy week i've had the opportunity to watch a fair number of movies on TV:

28 Days - 9/10. Great great movie. Love it.
10,000 BC - Alright i guess.. expected more out of it.
Pans "Laberinto" (hows that spelled in english??:|) - Good Stuff. Very different.
Patch Adams - Very very good movie too. 9/10 Got me very sentimental :/

I also saw the one with Kevin Costner and Aston Kutcher about the Coast Guard, and thought it was decently good (Y)

+ the one with Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman about a nuclear bomb being detonated in the States and the U.S thinking it was the Russias. Liked it too :p

all of this in just a couple of days :amika:

Nettles

Youth Team
Shifty In Real Life
Good Luck Chuck

Both 4/5, have Dane Cook in them for some reason >_< and are more chick flick material but when you've already seen everything else that's good recent than what can you do

I don't think a day goes by that I don't quote something from Anchorman.

I finally got around to seeing Godfather Part III. It wasn't nearly as good as the other two but still a very good film. I couldn't stand Sophia Coppola's acting, I thought she was terrible.

luckily, there are many more problems with that film, which is why i guess she didn't stand out as bad to me as you say she did. but due to your delightful insight, my bro and me decided to give it another whirl, which ended in this genius sentence being uttered by my bro;

Jesus H Christ... do you think she had to blow the director and do anal to get this part?

Sir Calumn

Hopefully not as she's the director's daughter :p

But that might suggest another explaination for her getting the part.

Stephen King's "The Mist". while pretty much cliched and corny in every way, I couldn't help but sit on the edge of my seat in suspense. it does its job, and the ending was fairly predictable but that little voice inside your head was hoping it wouldn't happen.

Superman
really, you liked it? I thought it was one of the worst movies of last year. it was way too slow, and the character all acted really stupidly. like
when they first see the monster in the back of the store and see the tentacles, it takes them a lot to convince the other people of what they just saw, even though they were all covered in blood and had a piece of tentacle to show. idiots.

Andre Brauer's character was just painful to watch. and the fanatism of Marcia Gay Harden's character was done wrong too. I really hated this one (N)(N)(N)

not exactly saying it was good, but it exceeded my expectations. the acting was poor and corny, and the characters were pretty corny and off, but the story wasn't as bad as it could've been.

PS: I saw the movie for free at an AMC that just opened downtown, so cant complain :p

I've seen many movies recently at the cinema such as Jumper, 10,000 BC, Vantage Point, Untraceable, etc! Ok they have been reasonably enjoyable to watch, but IMO they all seem to rely on effects and usually big actors. From a storyline point of view, all the above have been average at best!

My last movie is a "I'm a Legend" great movie!!!

Personally I thought it was pretty cack, poorly layed out and laughable ending. The only thing that kept me watching was Will Smith's performance!

The orphanage.. Good movie.. Not scary as they make it out to be..

Saw this last night and was a refreshing change from the above that I have recently seen. For me its the best movie i've seen at the cinema in ages, and the first movie i've really came out of the cinema thinking it was great since American Gangsta.

It shows how some people find different things scary though. For me I find pyschological films like The Orphanage much more chilling compared to say conventional horror which is more often than not just laughable i.e Hostel, Saw etc!

The story was superb, gripping and touching, and the actress who played Laura was awsome!

Would highly reccommend it to people who like films in this genre!
