Finally finished watching the Godfather trilogy.

Definitely one of the best movies i ever saw!

The third wasn't as spectacular as the other two, mainly because it lost some of it's magic with the new Michael Corleone, but understandable since it was the end of a cycle and he wanted to fix what he did wrong. Still great!

The last scene is just amazing.

So, what do you guys think of Affleck the younger? So far, I'm undecided on his abilities, man. He was pretty decent in Drowning Mona and Gerry, and I don't recall him having much of an impact on me in some of his other minor roles, but I'm mostly indifferent towards 'em, man. Can't decide whether he's utter **** or moderately decent.

Anyway, the reason why I bring this up is because he's in that new flick with Pitt whose title pretty much describes the whole movie for you, and he's supposed to be almost a lead in that one, carrying it as much as Pitt and I'm kinda nervous about that prospect.

Good?

Bad?

Indifferent?

SAY WHO?

BAD!!

He's overrated, I seriously don't know what people see in him as far as acting. I just see him as an actor that should be given only minor roles, Hell I'll even settle to seeing him as a walk in.

Mark wahlberg and Dicaprio are far better actors than him, The quality of roles that they have produced speak for themselves.

I would say he's crap. Not good enough to carry a movie on his own, and when directors wanted him to do that, the movie turned out really cheap, like on Paycheck, Armageddon...
I think Yoss meant Casey Affleck, not Ben ;)

Superman
yep. Casey is pretty good and will be better than Ben. he was excellent in Lonesome Jim and I hear he's great in Ben's movie Gone Baby Gone (Y)

hurhurhur....sorry, bros, my bad. I guess that's what I get for being a pretentious prick with that "The Younger" bull****....hurhur.

Well, atleast I got yer opinions on Ben, which I happen to agree with, btw. He definitely can't carry a movie on his own. He's better off as a secondary guy.

Bonzi

Starting XI
I've seen him playing only supporting roles yet: Good Will Hunting, 200 Cigarettes, Ocean's Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen. He looked decent though. His perfomance in Good Will Hunting probably is the most remarkable for me.

??? Am I missing something here, Who are you talking about Bonzi?? It can't be Affleck because he never was in any of the Ocean's movies. Can you be confusing him with Matt damon?? He was after all the lead actor in Good will hunting..

That's Casey Affleck I have been talking about! You seem to get Yoss's original message all wrong!

Good movie that Theo.

Saw GoldenEye last night , again, probably my favourite Bond movie. Gets praise from a lot of critics and critisism from a lot more - very divided opinion.

The Departed. Nice entertaining movie but one of Scorsese's weaker works, also I found Nicholson to be quite disappointing, his character is definately too exaggerated for my liking. DiCaprio's performance was nice, tho. He seems to be gaining character whith each new role. He's one of my favoutite actors these days, although I really hated him when his first few movies came out.

damn straight, man. Anyone who talks **** about that movie is a hopeless Cocksucker!

You've actually inspired me to go out and purchase the DVD. I last saw it like a decade ago, back when I was just a kid and anything remotely Bond related was to be worshipped.......*sigh*

I desperately want to see this movie, man. It's been getting some excellent praise since Sundance, and those posters just give me a very serene and hopeful feeling about it, man.

It's really awesome that Michael Douglas is in it because I have always been a big fan of his, but it's Evan Rachel Wood above all else that's drawing me to this flick, man. I've sorta been aware of her since she was like a child actress, but it was Thirteen that really caught my attention and made me notice her superior talents. Then Pretty Persuasion and Down In the Valley reconfirmed my love for her and earlier assesstments of her abilities. She's progressed seamlessly from a child actress to an immensely talented adult right before our eyes, man. The folks who are advising her in her career choices (except for allowing her to date Marilyn Manson....WTF? That's so ******* trite and right out of the stocks of Hollywood affairs, man) should be lauded.

Anyway, I'm really in love with this girl and consider her to be one of the best and most beautiful actresses around today, man......be they young or not....doesn't matter!!! She's got 3-4 flicks coming out this year and I hope that atleast a couple of them garner her the respect and recognition that she deserves.

I kinda fear that she might become a total whore like Scarlett both on and off the screen and start diluting her quality and credibility, but whatever, man.

Pan's Labyrinth

What a brilliantly crafted film from top to bottom. I don't know where to start and where to end with the praises that's how impressed I was by this. After seeing it I'm in utter disgust towards the academy for not giving this masterpiece at least a nomination for best film. I know I'm going into dangerous territory here with yoss lurking, but the fact that Babel got a nomination and Pan's Labyrinth did not is pretty much blasphemy.

What I liked most about it was how the film never really made a clear turn towards fantasy and reality, it let's the viewer decide which world they want to believe and be a part of. The beauty of every shot was also breathtaking. What a masterpiece.

Yeah, definitely. It's one of the most well crafted and beautiful flicks that I've come across in a long while, man, but I feel that they both deserved recognition. I don't see why you have to disparage and talk **** about Babel just because some arbitrary and consistently off the wall stupid committee decides to acknowledge one and not the other. You just seem like you're still bitter and holding a bitch grudge from that heated argument, man. I mean, weren't there like four other nominees? I don't think that their nominations was anymore or any less worthy than Babel's, man.

The Academy has always treated foreign flicks with great contempt, and it's a travesty that they don't acknowledge them for best picture often enough and just pigeon-hole them to their token foreign category, but they're not a barometer by which (recognized or not) a flick's quality should be judged. It's a popularity contest more than anything else most of the time anyway, man. I mean, take the Emmys for instance. They're supposed to identify and acknowledge the best in television, right? Well, how come they've yet to recognize The Wire which has been the best dramatic series (and overall) for the past 5-6 years?......alright, im done. Sorry for attaching my personal beef with the Emmy people with your disagreement in regards to the Academy's selections....I just had to vent and let it out somewhere, man.

Harry Potter 5: If you watch it keeping the book in mind, you'll be disappointed in every turn. The characters suffer alterations, the plot suffers alterations, even the setting suffers alterations. But on its own, it's an alright film. The young actors are improving, although the gap between their performance and that of the adults is tremendous. I really liked how they portrayed the duels, it was a very interesting watch, although granted that they cut pretty much everything in the book to a third of its size, I hoped the battle scene would be enlargened, but I disappointed there, too. Anyway, really liked the older people's acting, not so much the young folk, and excellent effects, other than that, pretty mediocre. Only reason I liked it more than other films is because I liked the actual book better.

Silence of the Lambs. Interesting. I had been warned not to watch it, but I really didn't find it at all scary. Maybe I missed something? Still, Mr. Lecter has to be one of the greatest villains/anti-heroes ever. Couldn't really sympathise with anyone in the film. Not with Clarice, not with Hannibal, not with Buffallo Bill. You could interpret it as intentional, to highlight Lecter's lack of empathy, but the underlying effect simply had me wishing to see Lecter on, since his parts in the film were very memorable.

Also watched this documentary by Richard Dawkings about religion and its faults. It was quite odd, since, given that he starts talking like a die-hard, close-minded atheist, but you slowly see why that might be, since everyone he talks to is even more close-minded, but whose opinions are more damaging/ridiculous. Intriguing documentary.

Also watched A Raising in the Sun at school, which was alright, wouldn't watch it again, nothing special.

i've stated my opinion on Will Smith, i don't care if it's as Ali or a cop, the guy is a legend, and i just cannot dislike Martin Lawrence, so i thought it was great

Bay's over the top approach to movies works pretty good here too, i don't care about the realism or too much explosions when it comes to a action/comedy with smith and lawrence
