He's one of the best (If not the best) celebrity interviews to listen to or read. I'm not much of a drinker, but if there was one person in the entire world right now that I could have as my wing-man and go out on a debauched bender, it'd be him. He's just a genuinely cool dude, man.

Now as far as his acting abilities go, I'm really ambivalent and unconvinced at the moment. He's been having trouble recapturing that award deserving performance from Tigerland, eh? Ever since that breakthrough role, he's been overexposing himself both on and off the screen like some trashy tabloids seeking attention-whore. He was trying too hard to live up to that badboy , Cocksman persona that the Hollywood system has concocted for 'em for quite a while now, and so as a result, his script selections became questionable at best, you know? It just seems to me that he was taking roles simply because of the big names attached to the projects that he might've admired growin' up or something and getting swept up and overwhelmed by his massive hype and publicity instead of carefully reading through them and seeing them for the pieces of **** and repetitive projects that they were. Now that he's had his run of making big blockbusters, dipped his Cock in just about every Hollywood starlet that you could name, and his fixation of being the industry's badass has waned down quite a bit, and he is financially set, I hope that he ups his standards in terms of the roles that he chooses, you know? Instead of being a cheap whore who can't turn down anything that's thrown his way. Luckily, he's got age on his side.

Here's my take on the movies from his filmography that I've seen.

Tigerland: as I've said earlier. This is his watershed thus far.

Phone Booth: I really enjoyed this one....one of his best outputs, for sure.

The Recruit: did an adequate job...nothing memorable. He was overshadowed by Pacino a bit, but that's to be expected. It was just a bland flick from top to bottom, man.

Minority Report: a very solid performance....no quibbles here.

SWAT: another mundane and tripe role....probably a quick cash grab for both he and Carlos*son because they were both garbage in it.

Daredevil: one word UTTER****.....a cringe inducing performance

Hart's War: did the best with what was given to him here....solid performance.

Alexander: DEARLORDNOOOO.......about as terribly miscasted as it can get, man. A messy piece of **** on all fronts (even Kilmer...but he rules, so we'll forgive 'em) Anyway, some casting c/unt probably thought..."Oh, so we're competing with a movie about the same exact subject that's gonna star Dicaprio, let's get the hottest, most publicized actor around right now"

Again, I really can't blame 'em for choosing this role, as it probably had some great potential in its project phase, but it still doesn't excuse 'em from his horrid performance, man.

The New World: What an epic...literally, eh? Heh. Oh man, this movie was a masterpiece in its cinematography and engrossing storytelling, eh? It probably could've been edited down a bit, but as far as the acting goes, it was a joy to watch Colin, Pocahontas (she's legal, right?. Not that it'd stop me from whacking it to her or nothing), and Bale in the last half of the movie.

Again, an excellent performance.....probably his second best thus far.

BTW, I've heard some great things about Intermission, have you seen it? I've been meaning to see it for sometime now, and I even actually got the chance to some time back when it aired on the television here (mid-afternoon I think it was), and I just unknowingly passed it over, thinking that it was some ho-hum Brit flick or something.....too bad.
Cool, I havent actually seen about half of those movies, including Tigerland which sounds like a must from what you say, will invest in it asap. I cant blame him for Alexander, I mean, who wouldnt want to play Alexander the Great in an Oliver Stone epic, and that film had problems much more fundamental than the castings/performances. I havent seen the ****ty ones either like SWAT and Daredevil so I guess that colours my opinion, but I enjoyed him in The Recruit and Phonebooth, though I agree he was nothing special, but I thought he had a lot of potential, and then, as I said, I absolutely loved everything about the New World, including his fantastic performance. What a phenominal and beautiful director Terrance Malick is, man, I wish he'd be a bit more prolific? Have you seen Badlands? With that and Apoc Now under his belt, I cant see how Martin Sheen isnt considered one of the all time greats. But I deviate, I definately think there is a lot more to come from Farrell if he can just stop taking the easy options and push himself more as an actor, and I look forward to seeing how his career develops.

Oh and as far as I know Intermission is pretty average, but I havent seen it. Never appealed to me though and I've not heard anything particularly good about it, though nothing damning either.

Firewall - Not too bad, but the ending was so incredibly rushed. Also, as with so many of these, the plot can be guessed from the first minute. But still, Ford is still great as an ageing hero and Paul Bettany is fast becoming one of the hottest properties in Hollywood - not awful.

James Caan. What was his last significant and laudable role? He's a ******* legend, man, but he's been damaged by dumb selections, and also by typecasting.

Oh, don't get me wrong. That was a good small screen role for 'em, but I was referring to actual full length features and ****, bro.

BTW, do you guys get these English language programs with subs? Maybe even dubbed?

just saw Transformers, most of all it's a cool movie, and it has Bay written all over it, which wasn't a bad thing for a flick like this...good entertainment..

Call me a queer, but I find myself salivating and getting goosebumps watching that trailer, man. I haven't seen that, or any of the other Oscar hopefuls this year, but I'm already banking on Cate taking home the award for best actress for this role, man.

All hail Cate! Cate's the greatest!........a modern day Hepburn, no doubt!

HAHAHA, The Golden Age, HAHAHAHAHA (H)

Anyways, I saw The Kingdom yesterday, it was an excellent film. Lots of action, along with the controversy and the sentimental stuff.

Science of Sleep... interesting... highly enjoyable, but left me unfulfilled at the end, not entirely sure how good I actually thought it was, and how original. Needs a second viewing.

WAR

great entertainment, but i reckon they underused both Li and Statham...they tried to get the emotional performance from both, when what you want to see from a movie with these two is ass kickin from top to bottom...great film though, nice little ending twist (Y)
