My take on the TFC..
I knew Welsh was an English import, but I thought he was at least 31 or so years old... I looked him up and was shocked to not only see that he actually played premiership soccer a couple years ago, but that he was only 23 yrs old
Like Robinson though, I think no matter how poor they might play, these English imports will always have a place in the starting 11, just as a favour by Johnston. Robinson has improved since the start of season, but he's still not making that great an impact. Welsh is slow as sh*te, and always tries to take on defenders (and i know its because he comes from England and doesnt think much of the MLS opposition).. only he fails every time. I'd much rather see Canizalez starting over this bum. Whenever i see Boyens, its just a disaster waiting to happen, whenever he has possession he lacks confidence and looks shaky.
For me, Edu is one of our top players, he just needs more experience. He's lively on the ball, and is the best athlete on the team. I can see a future in Europe for this guy if he gains a bit more composure and patience on the ball.
Im not as in love with Dichio as the everybody else is, but he never seems to lose a 50/50 ball, and is pretty good at laying the ball off. Other then that, there's not much to his game. he is one dirty ass c*nt though, thats probably why Toronto loves him so much
Eskandarian definitely gets the award for the TFC player who puts in the most effort and seems to give a damn the most, im really glad he finally got on the board yesterday
O'Brien is still clearly injured, and although he has good vision, he cant run 10 metres to save his life.
Wynne and Goldthwaite were two great pickups. Goldthwaite gets exposed sometimes on defence though, and his yellow card yesterday was stupid.
Brennan has been kind of shaky on the ball, but his natural position is at full back.
Nagamura was a blah player and i didnt mind seeing him leaving (although somebody in return mightve been nice)
Buddle is lively, but very clumsy.
Canizalez has been a bright spot, and its a shame Welsh is preferred to him. One of the more skilled players on TFC.
Suttons been decent, i give him a 6.5/10. Definately improved since start of season, but compared to other MLS keepers im not totally convinced.
I think Johnston has been a subpar coach. Instead of making an offensive switch yesterday to try and draw even, he did nothing. Will play Robinson and more specifically Welsh this season from the start, no matter how poor they are.
and in response to shinji, i dont know how you can critisize Radzinski for snubbing the TFC. He's been a key player for Everton and Fulham the past 5 years or so, comin to the MLS now would be a huge step down. He's still got a couple more years of top flight soccer in him.
