Obertan is very overrated. He got speed and pace but very amateurish pass, cross and shot. I expect him to become a decent backup at his peak but not more. You never know though.

...and then we all forget about somebody named Tosic...who was never given a chance but always impressed in the reserves, for the NT and at Cologne

Supposedly Hargreaves is 'close to returning' and will train with the senior team starting next week.

Then again, he has been 'close to returning' for about a year now so I don't really believe it.

Thats old news. You can probably find the exact same thing in another article dated 2 years ago lol

Nani and Giggs would be awesome on the wings but you can't expect Giggs to play each and every game unfortunately. I guess Nani will start in every game and Giggs and Park will rotate on the other wing. We have Fletcher as an emergency right midfielder if needed.

Sir Alex said that Valencia could be back in February but I doubt it. He's had a dislocation and fracture of the ankle complicated by some ligamentous damage. I'm not worried about the fracture or dislocation TBH. I'm more worried about the ligament damage. Ligaments take a long time to heal just like tendons and when you have ligament damage in your ankle, you become much more prone to ankle sprains. So, not good at all for Valencia.

In other news, Fergie said that Vidic will captain us throughout this season... Very surprising since I thought Ferdinand and Evra were in front of Vidic for captaincy.

So, great game tomorrow. the classic United Vs Pool. Thats the lineup I'd like to see:

VDS

Brown - Vidic - Ferdinand - Evra

Nani - Fletcher - Scholes - Giggs

Rooney - Berlabov

I beg to differ. He really packed on some muscle and for me has been the highlight of pre-season. He has also impressed immensely in the reserves from what I hear. I definitely see the potential in that kid.

Vidic is our captain from now on. Not too surprised although I probably would have given it to Fletcher

Really? Haven't seen pre-season but I watched all his games for the senior team and some reserve games of last season. He's truly gifted with pace, dribbling and speed but he's very poor at passing, crossing or shooting. No accuracy at all. What's the point of having so much speed and having a poor end product?

How did he do in pre-season? If he improves his passing and crossing then I'd be optimistic about him. He's shown that he has potential in that Wolfsburg game though.

I'm surprised because Fergie said that Ferdinand's gonna get it when Neville/Giggs step down. Ferdinand definitely has better leadership skills than anyone in the team. Our defense is not the same without him, even with Vidic playing. I hope that isn't a clue that Ferdinand won't be able to play all games this season.

Hopefully Park can do this again tomorrow:

Changed. Just remembered he's the big game player.

An important win in the end. I just wish our defense wasn't so **** right when our attack is clicking so well. Hopefully, Nani is ok as well, it looked like a hamstring pull.

I've posted my comments in the United v Pool thread.

And let me re-quote that here as well:

Oh Stevie Stevie G.... u love kissing the camera at Old Trafford but that must have felt like u've just kissed DIMITAR BERBATOV's arse!!!

(H)

Seriously. The more he kisses the camera, the more he looks like an idiot.

Freakin hell..i was soo infuriated when we let that 2 goal slip away. Why do we do such daft things. Creating liverpool's best 2 and probably the only 2 chances of the game. Hope fergie does something about the back four. 3rd time it has happened now. We also need carrick and ando asap. scholes cant play 90 mins in an intense high tempo match.

And now for the positives...Berbatov..what a player. I am very pleased for him. He is class. Nani was great as well but have to cut out the playacting. annoying as hell.

But for two stupid lapses in defence - we'd have killed the game off. Berbatov was sensational and maybe now people will get behind him!

Wow, what a game. I was so dissapointed that we let a good performance slip through our fingers, but Berba showed why SAF wanted him. We need to sort out the defence, cause this will cost us huge points during the season, if it continues

that was berbatastic, definitely going to be his year. He's a new animal.

Nani is such a great player but his play acting is very annoying. What is it with these Portuguese players we buy. He played great.

Our defence is a little worrying, we have gone from having the strongest defence in the league to this.

Chelsea played very well... its a bit worrying. Cant wait to see them play a big team, see how they do. I'll ignore the charity shield.

They have Man Citeh next, should be a good game.

Bridge :skip_e: **** Terry

BTW,

Berbatov was the happiest person, he silenced some doubters with this performance. Congrats on the win (Y)

BerbaTOP has really impressed me. He had some good opening games and I thought he'd get back to his normal self after a few games. But no! He's getting better and better. 6 excellent games. Thats a great sign. He's scored 7 goals in these 6 games compared to 12 goals in 43 games last season. I really hope his form doesn't drop down. He's been looking very much like the Berbatov we know at Tottenham.

I added him to my EPL fantasy team 3 weeks ago and its really paying off :D

Ferdinand should be back in the next game which is reassuring because Evans has looked poor. He's not ready IMO but he's young and will improve. He's an excellent backup but nowhere near being a starter for us.

Yes Chelsea's form is worrying but to be fair, they played against below par teams so far. West Ham, Stoke, Blackpool, Wigan etc... All would probably be in the bottom half of the table at the end of the season. Whereas United have played Fulham, Everton and Liverpool: all 3 competing for the Europa or even the UCL. So thats kind of reassuring. Plus I would count Charity Shield as well since they were full-strength. This showed that they are not really unbeatable.

The Man City game would be the real test... If they win that game by a big margin I'd be very worried. I hope they get overconfident and lose points. I'm hoping for a draw for them because I want both Chelsea and Man City to lose points.

I found a Bebe video for his reserves debut. He looks quite good. A bit similar to Obertan. Hopefully he'll turn good and Obertan as well.
