Yes best England player so far. He is much more dangerous than Cleverley on the right side. Smalling + Jones look strong at the back. Jones is very good on headers. Cleverley and Welbeck having a quiet game but its difficult for them against a much stronger Spain team.

Welbeck! (H). England central midfield was so bad that Smalling had to launch that attack. Hendersen didn't look like a 20 millions player at all. He was absolutely useless in that midfield.

Had to go to the grocery store, so I missed the game after the Spain goal. Any other impressions? Kyle Walker looks good? He's a good FM player.

Yes Walker made lots of very good runs down the right side and he's the one who made the assist to Welbeck's goal.

The back 4 was very good. Smalling and Walker were England's best players. Jones and Bertrand did well too. Midfield did not create anything at all. Hendersen and Mancienne made lots of stray passes, Cleverley had a quiet game and Rose tried some runs but his crosses were very poor.

Welbeck and Sturridge did well. Welbeck played the SS role and was defending too. Good overall contribution, and Sturridge did well to try some shots on goal. England played better with Rodwell imo. Mancienne didn't do much. England would've done much better with Wilshere and Carroll.

On Spain's side, they controlled the modfield as expected. Mata and Thiago were good. Their big flaw was defense. Unbelievable how much space Welbeck had on that goal. De Gea was a spectator for most of the game except for a magnificient save that he made just before half time. Looked destined to be an Own goal.

Welbeck's goal:

The build-up started with Smalling running from defense to the centre line and made a pass to Walker. Walker made the assist.

----------------------

Will add some more stuff later on.

EDIT: Looking back at the other threads, I realised that this thread (2010/2011) has the least number of posts since the first ever United thread. Previous threads had 5 000 - 7 000 posts meaning 20 posts per day on average. :|

Yeah thats right. Where the hell is Bobby? Used to make these forums much more active.

I think only a Babe thread can temporarily bring them back. Like last year. TROD, King and others made shock come backs.

Yeah, maybe a draft after the Copa America and make it an annual thing. Although maybe people won't want to do it again if we never get around to awarding a winner.
