I love shutting people down and I must say that I am capable of making a career out of it.

Yep, people say a goalkeeper is a unique brand. Anyone can kick a football around a field, few can be a keeper. I love being a keeper.Making stops with any part of my body, as long as I stop the ball (H)

Once my friend was forced to be the keeper and this guy shot the ball at his hand and broke it :|.

More evidence that not everyone can be a keeper, your mate obviously didn't have a clue what he was doing, unless your spewing your usual bullshít

thanx .....I love keeping and I thought that there would be more like me....

I'm not in a team but i play every saturday with my mates and i play in goal, they say i could probably make it as a semi pro if i had the right training. I've got good agilty, thats my strength. I think i was born to be a goalkeeper, ever since i can remeber i've been playing in goal e.g for school team, i like diving around and getting dirty hehe thats why i enjoy it so much. I can play in defence and midfield as well so thats another strength. If only scouts came down to where i play and saw me :(

I'm a goalkeeper too and I really enjoy to be one. I'm 17 years old and I'm playing for 6 years as I goalkeeper. I hope to become a proffessional goalkeeper. I will work on it very hard to achieve that.

I wanted to be a goalkeeper too when I were younger, I was one for one match and we lost like 8-2 or something. I don't have good reflexes and I cant dive

I started out as a goalkeeper for my local youth team when I was about 9 years old. Playing goalkeeper was a traumatizing experience to say the very least, so I got switched to a defending role. When I was a goalkeeper though, I would frequently get scored on by girls and stuff.

i've posted on all threads....since this is my last one, all i have to say is: my most and deepest respect to all the goalkeepers out there busting their @ss.....i never thought about beeing a goalkeeper 'cause i was afraid it might hit my face:crazyboy:

i played keeper for one of my high school games(the starter was injured). it was one of the most nerveracking(sp?) things ive ever done, up there with a overtime penalty shot in hockey. i let in two goals but they werent really my fault. the defence f.cuked up twice to let their strikers through. i made a really good flying save but the landing hurt like a b1tch(damn that post). i think i'll stick to the midfield.

I used to be a keeper a while back. I'm a bitch for not playing except my senior year in hig hschool. :( I guess I'm the back-up for the team I play for now. I'd kill to have a chance to play soccer again. I miss it so much.

does anyone have any video of themselves in action.....

also post your GK idols.......here's mine

none other than Antonis Nikopolidis....Europe's top keeper right now in my opinion

i was backup keeper in my first year, lol

i played outfield to but i'd play the odd game in net

i was decent, but never that good, lol

i played my first game in goal when i was 12 and i conceded 4 goals in one half

they put me upfront in the second half and i got a hattrick but we lost 9-3 :(

I play in goal for a Junior team called Ayr Baptists. I'm first choice keeper because the other one is stupid and makes stupid mistakes.
The best game I've ever had was a 9-0 victory over some team from Auchinleck a month ago. I saved two lobs, three shots and a rebound.
My weakness is that I'm too commited and I'm not scared of the ball because last thursday I got hit in the forehead by a boot because they didn't tie it properly. The goal still stood.:f***:

I love being goalie too. Sucks for me cuz all the teams that I try for only keep one goalie! I had to play a couple times for my house team at school so at least i'm keeping in shape.
Next year I'll probly play though, I'm progressing well considering that I'm pretty inexperienced.:f***:

That said, I constantly frustrate strikers with my aggressiveness, not being afraid to go for the feet really comes in handy!

I was a keeper up until last season.

I played semi-professionally for a club in New Jersey, and we made it to the round of 16 in the State Cup.

Last season my intramural team also won the Rutgers University Indoor Soccer League. The team had won it in the previous year, and then they made it two in a row with their new keeper :D

But now i'm a full time referee, and will actually be refereeing in the intramural league this season, where that same team will be going for three in a row. Hopefully i can stay impartial (not to say i'd favour them, honestly i think the problem might be NOT giving them calls that they DO deserve, because i might be afraid of accusations of cheating).
