Ronaldinho is nominated because he is Ronaldinho. its all about reputation because if it was about playing well Kaka's name would be up there. It’s a fucking shame.

He did not play as an ACM. He played more of a LCM role than anything, because the system was set up the him and Kaka would drop back and pressure the opposition.

if you watch the games you see when he touches he ball he's way behind everyone. Also Kaka was not great....he was no where after the australia game

I agree Ronaldinho is Barça's best player.

I don't get why everyone criticize Ronaldinho so much. Ronaldinho has had better years, but like you said, he's done amazing things this year as well. Some people expect too much from him.

Though if I had to choose one player this year, it has to be Eto'o. Ronaldinho is spectacular AND EFFICIENT, but this year he's been very irregular. Eto'o was more regular and decisive. This season he started 6 games with 4 goals and 3 assists. Then he got injured and now it's like he doesn't exist because people have short memory.

But really he was not doing that a little while ago, he just started to perform a bit now. When Eto'o got injured it was evident how badly they miss him. He is not a classy person or anything like that but he does score when they need it.

but just think about it; who would we miss more dinho or etoo? ; clearly we miss etoo; but we have manage, we are first in the liga and we have a good chance qualifying to the CL second round without etoo so its not so bad as you put it, on the other hand i think with dinho injured all are system will collapse, for those who do know barca and that we have seen barca play with out dinho, let me tell you its not pretty lol; so certainly dinho should win this he is the core of the best club of the world; plus i dont think this award should be based on the wolrld cup seriuosly ; a lot of players did have a good WC not just cannavaro and look at some of them now.

on the other hand zidane beeing considered its a freaking joke seriously; its just a pitty nomination; it they were talking of a hall of fame award then thats another thing; etoo or kaka should been their instead.

I don't agree with Zidane being in any award for last season but about the World Cup its arguably the biggest tournament and that holds a big deal in the award's because people expect the best from the best players. Some perform and others dont but in a World Cup year its important to do well at the World Cup. Theres really no way around it, I dont see why Ronaldinho should be there for having a good season with Barca but having a crap World Cup while Henry did well in both of them or Buffon who I also thought did well in both but was not in the list of the 3 players nominated.

About Henry having an average league, he was top scorer of last season ( 27 goals in 30 games for the league according to soccernet ) and really how many people expected Arsenal to win the league? I can't see how he had an "average" season?
