desktops are for professional use, where a permanent, powerful, and modularly upgradeable machine is required ... unless you're into PC exclusive games, or you're a kid looking for the experience of building your own rig for the first time, desktops make little sense to me nowadays ...

get a PS/XB (or just a smart TV if you're not a gamer), couple it with a lightweight laptop and/or tablet, and you're all set ...

Why? A decent gaming PC can be built at a reasonable price and is much more future proof than a console.

I also use mine as my media centre, with Kodi basically always running on it.

I have a PS3 and no intention to buy a PS4. You're just too narrowminded to entertainment n the notion of different perspectives.

I also don't mind paying for things I actually use and buy games for cheap. Downloading games would not represent a significant benefit.

This whole discussion started because we were talking about the next gen version of FIFA. That won't be on PS3. That's the whole point - it has nothing to do with narrow-mindedness.

If you said you didn't like PC gaming because you find consoles faster start times (if you leave your PC off, which I don't), lack of installation, etc more convenient, that may make sense. If you said (as Mus did) that you find PC parts unreliable (though I've never had an issue with any PC of mine being unreliable - and I leave them on all the time), that makes sense. But you didn't. You said "you don't like PC gaming" - and as per this thread, gaming on PC can be exactly as per a console (with more possibilities due to the mod community etc).

The discussion started after Mus suggested you get a PS4, Nady said that he believed a PC saved you money in the long run, and then you questioned how it would save you money. You then tried to derail the discussion when we (Nady and I) answered your question, by stating that you already had a PS3 - which was irrelevant to the original point. And now, after dismissing a PC without any valid reasoning - and all your points generally proven wrong, you claim I'm narrow minded.

I have FIFA 15, FM 2015, Tomb raider (last one), GTA V, Watchdogs, Asetta Corsa, Dirt 3, Far Cry 4, Grid 2, Grid Autosport, Project Cars, PES 15 on my PC for $50 (I paid only for FIFA 15 on boxing week sale. All the rest $0)

All these would cost you $700+ on console.

Why do I have to consider a PC? I don't want to play games on PC, and since it's my life I can do whatever I want while, as I said, requiring no justification or reasoning on my part. I am aware of the benefits, they do not matter to me, you cannot grasp that because you have reached your own conclusion and cannot envisage someone else reaching a different one. It was a statement, yes, because I wasn't justifying myself; I wasn't participating in an argument.

What? I love how I 'tried to derail' the conversation someone was having with me. It presupposes that you know what I was referring to (a byproduct of your narrow-mindedness) and that I was trying to maliciously subterfuge your pleasant conversation. What Nady said assumed I would take Mus' suggestion. My post was not asking for the benefits of PC gaming but me questioning Nady's suggestion on its own because I had not intention to listen to Mus. Since I have no intention to buy a PS4, Nady's advice doesn't apply, since I cannot save any money by buying something I did not want or intended to buy.

I stated I had a PS3 to say that I already had a gaming platform so, it being bought, I cannot save any money off it by buying an additional platform. I stated this earlier. You could not grasp this because are narrow-minded. You have assumed I was talking about the same thing as you because you are narrow-minded. You have been arguing with your own illusions of what you think I was saying.

I have not made any points at all, I have no idea what you're talking about. The few things I've said are either irrefutable (buying a gaming PC I do not want would not constitute any savings) or matters of preference (seperating work station from gaming). Either way, neither having been addressed. You are living in your own world. A narrow one.

I think I spent about 300 on my PS3 and something between 10-30e per game. I think I have like 15 games so that's 450e as a higher-than-reality estimate. That's a total of 750, more or less. As I said before I don't mind paying for things I actually use, but even if I did the cost has been minimal and to avoid it you'd have had to convince me years ago. Right now there is nothing to save, like I said.

So you want to play Fifa with its new features but dont wanna buy the new platform required to get those new features.

So I guess your whole point was that Fifa 16 on old gen is just squad update but it was possible to have many of those new features (It its possible) but they didn't.

So at the moment, best choice for you is to buy PES 16 on PS3 instead of Fifa. Its cheaper but better than old gen Fifa.

I would definitely prefer EA to update the PS3 version but I certainly won't be inclined to purchase a newgen machine just for that and the current array of available games.

I don't like having my gaming and work on the same machine. I have no horse in the consoles-PC race.

This is a soccer gaming forum. You do not get to dictate what this forum is about and what people can and cannot post. I have no stance, you're just insisting on making me fit into what you want to discuss. I have made no attempts to validate my stance, I don't have to. I asked Nady a question, not you, for one. This is stupid. I didn't dismiss the fact that my post was misinterpeted, I can understand that (so it has nothing to do with narrow-mindedness). I just meant something different, and whether it was understood at first or later or never isn't a big deal. Once it was properly explained to you I don't see why you keep arguing. The whole 'we're all in agreement against you' is faulty and infantile. You are the only one arguing with me. I have stated that I had a PS3 many times here, and this conversation, whose structural integrity you're so attached to, started because I was talking about oldgen FIFA. Either way, it's irrelevant. No I don't. I can be as vague or as explicit as I want. I wasn't understood initially, no big deal. I explained myself eventually, and that really is the end of it. I'm sure Nady and Mus did think that, too, but they aren't harping about it and aren't losing their sh*t. I didn't dismiss the possibility of what I said being misunderstood, it's entirely reasonable. But I don't see why that is such an issue for you.

Nothing. I have not played FM since 2012, which is when I started talking uni seriously.

Not to say that I won't play FM on PC, I might, but I don't really consider it 'gaming' as it is not such a taxing game and I can play it while doing other stuff. Before you lose your sh*t, yes, I know it is PC gaming, but again, I don't really care.

This is something an elderly person would say (that plays games).

You could literally install your games, create a shortcut folder for them and then instead of booting up your playstation you can double click the shortcut on your PC. I don't get what's so bad about that? Is it a money thing (buying a machine powerful enough or with enough space)?

Do you think they slow down the PC or give you viruses or something?

I did not give my stance. I have none. Xaviesta states things with no foundation and has a track record of basing his opinion on bullshit. In this case my opinion on PC vs consoles is irrelevant because I have an oldgen machine and an old pc that can't run games and a nee laptop I just want to use for work. Otherwise games distrsct me and the nee laptop isn't equipped for new games anyway.
