The Arsenal [2008|2009]

We were very shakey defensivly in the first half. Wenger saw how Blackburn were exploiting that left side and moved Eboue their second half. We dominated the 2nd half easily and Ade is back at it again. Also Song coming on allowed for total domination. Great win away from home and Denilson gets better with each game he needs to hustle a lot harder though and learn how to tackle.

what an encouraging and beautiful performance by Walcott, man. He's evolving rapidly from an unsure, headless chicken who is easily dispossessed into a more confident, highly aware and highly technical player, man. His passes are more crisp and accurate, his dribbling ability in tight and pressured areas has improved greatly too, man.

Wilshere beat Fabregas' record and became the youngest ever Arsenal player to play in a League game. Cesc still holds the overall record, though.

do you guys think that he's (Cesc) gonna get swallowed up by Chelsea's dauntingly deep and talented midfield when we face 'em? I got to watch most of their game against Mancity, and BOY are they scarier than ever, man. And you know how much I loathe talking up rivals and all, but with Scolari implementing his new, more offensive minded system, I feel that we have no chance against them if they choose to sharply hone in on Cesc and man mark him since he's almost the sole creative source for our squad.

I'm more worried about Denílson actually, I hope he's up for the task of facing Chelsea, United and the likes...

About Fàbregas, Wenger knows that problem can arise, he'll be prepared... and Cesc himself is a clever enough player to overcome those difficulties, it's not like it's the only good midfield Arsenal have and will face...

relax, bra (H)

I would play a 4-5-1 against the Big 4 away. With Song in the DMF role. Than you have your choice of Theo, Eboue, Van Pers, Nasri on the wings and Ade up top alone. Denilson is good and is getting better BUT I think he is bullied in Midfield a lot and commits silly fouls in dangerous positions.

We shouldn't underestimate Kyiv, Wenger says a draw would be a good result.

I think we should play a 4-4-2 except for the following fixtures:
At Stamford Bridge and O.T.
In any away match in the knockout phase of the CL, or on the road against any other good European team.
My 4-5-1 would look like this (not including defense because that doesn't change):
Diaby
Fabregas
Walcott Nasri V. Persie
Adebayor

LMAO! I have to post this. So this one American kid on a forum that I moderate (for call of duty games), is a real idiot. Obviously he has no football knowledge and I posted a joke about the spurs, then he answers:

What's tottenham hotspur, a disease? I don't get it.

LMAO!

so, 1-2 at the moment, great first half by Arsenal despite the obvious difficulties with Bolton's set pieces...

Eboué's goal is offside though, but saying it's a fair result is an understatement, should have been 3 or 4 by now...for about 20 minutes after Bolton's goal Arsenal were just outstanding...

This could turn into my second favorite side that Arsene has put together since the Henry, Vieira, Bergkamp, Ljungberg, Pirès sides. With the talent that we have and Arsene eye for young talent I think that this could be our year. I was wondering where I could get a banner made or a new avator with some of this years players? Any

Hey, can someone explain the Diarra situation to me, please? Was he that much of an irredeemable prick that we had to offload 'em so quickly? I don't know how much we got for that kid, man, but wouldn't he have been an emphatic answer to our protecting midfielder issues? I've seen 'em play one match and extended highlights of another, and the dude is a legitimate beast in the middle despite his size, man. His play evokes memories of Makelele in me, man.

Also, I'm digging Song's maturation and development. At one point, I thought that this kid wouldn't last at the Arse because he was so poor technically and not all that impressive physically, but what I saw in the Bolton match was really encouraging. He just seems to have a better feel for the game now, man. His awareness level seems to have improved a great deal.

Carling Cup:

Arsenal 6

sheffield 0

F: Vela hat trick believed to be the youngest Gunner in history to get one.

MoM: Carlos Vela with 3 goals and 1 assist

When he was here he had Flamini and Gilberto ahead of him. He wanted to play in Euro 2008 so he thought it was best for his career if he left.

I think there are some question marks over his attitude having fallen out with two big clubs. There are no question marks over his ability though.

Type of player we could do with.

But nice work in the Carling Cup. If they really are that good then perhaps they can be called upon in the traditional late season slip in form you guys have experienced the past two seasons.

Wow, last night's performance has been nothing else but breathtaking... I have no words... Just watch the goals on youtube...
